The proposed exchanges of the cities between Russia and Lithuania, Narva to Lithuania and Smolensk and Velikiye Luki to Russia is an attempt to put past wars behind us and to guarantee that there will be no reason for our two countries to fight in the future.

Just as with the city of Azov, where the Ottomans realized that giving access to the Black Sea to Russia and Lithuania would prevent future conflicts, so here, if Estonians live under Lithuanian rule and Russians under Russian rule there will be no reason for conflict.

Of course, the agreement is valid regardless and the exchange of the cities is not necessary, but we are afraid Russia will not sign the proposed alliance with Lithuania without that exchange. If there is something more Lithuania would like in return, we would be more than happy to consider it.

We understand your want for this, but remember, Estonians are not Poles, nor Lithuanians. We do realize a need for peace between Russia and ourselves, so we propose the following.

Poland-Lithuania and Russia will begin trade, Polish-Lithuanian stone (limestone and granite) in exchange for Russian...uh...whatever that is you export...fish? Also, Poland-Lithuania and Russia will agree to a NAP for *insert years equal to 10 turns here* and an defensive alliance. Also, if Russia is willing, Poland-Lithuania will allow a Russian princess to marry Andrzej Zygmunt, son to the king.
