SheepNES: The Dragon is Awake: MAIN THREAD

To Milan
From Venice

(I'm not entirely sure if we meet the requirements for this, they weren't really made very clear, but assuming its possible)

We suggest a trade and military alliance, akin to a Royal Marriage, which would bring peace and stability to Northen Italy and the surrounding regions, allowing us to focus on trade and colonisation.

OOC: Venice is a Republic, friend. Why would they have a Royal Marriage?

By the way, for this diplo at least, I'm running on OTL names. Feel free to correct the naming of the sons concerned, if that is your desire.

To John I Szápolyai, King of Hungary
From Ferdinand I Hapsburg, Archduke of Austria and King of Bohemia

In honour of the intertwined fates of Austria and Hungary, and of our new alliance, I propose a royal marriage, between my daughter, Joanna, and your heir, John.

To Zygmunt I Jagiellon, King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania
From Ferdinand I Hapsburg, Archduke of Austria and King of Bohemia

I propose cementing our alliance with a marriage pact. Already, a Jagellion is married to John I Szápolyai himself, so your bond is deeper than that between Austria and the Commonwealth. So I propose that my daughter Elisabeth, eldest of my daughters, marry your son and heir Zygmunt Augustus.

Agreed.

To: Russia, Ottoman Empire

We must reject the Ottoman proposal, seeing as it is in blatant disregard to our request. We will reiterate our request, and back it up with a (crappy) map.

Can anyone upload the bigger map of the world to photobucket?

OOC: You do realize that you just proposed giving ALL of the Tatar lands to yourself? Official diplo coming in a while but I really wish people would read and understand what we are talking about before posting stuff.

To: Russia

We are aware that those were Tartar lands, but unaware that those were ALL the Tartar lands. We are willing to hear a Russian counter proposal, seeing as they are doing most of the pushing for the territory to be divvied up.

Concerning the division of the Tatar states

The Ottoman Empire does not see why we must allow access to the City of Azov and in addition give up land for such a thing to happen. We would be willing to do this if you explained how it would benefit us, but currently we see no reason.

With respect to Russia, we do not see why the lands of the Astrakhan Khanate should be given solely to Russian control, instead perhaps it should be divided between the Ottomans and the Russians.

That being said, we do agree with mutual friendship between our two nations, however perhaps all three of our great peoples, Russia, Poland-Lithuania, and the Ottomans, might enter into an alliance so that we might protect our newly found friendship and lands.

We have revised the Russian divisions of the Tatar states.
Spoiler :

To Persia

We ask you to elaborate further upon your intended trade agreement.

To the Great Ottoman Empire:
From the Safavid Empire of Persia:

We would like to extend foremost trading rights to you for our famous Persian textiles, silks, and carpets. Our Silk Road merchants would also have to defer to you before reaching the western empires. (optional)

In exchange, we would like your awesome gunpowder and famous Damascan steel. We would also like harassment- free voyages into the Holy land for our citizens. (optional)

If there is anything else you wish to exchange, please, don't hesitate to ask.

To the Ottoman Empire

The purpose of allowing the city of Azov to be used by Russia, Lithuania, and the Ottoman Empire is to ensure that in the future there is absolutely no reason for conflict between the three nations. It is obvious that access to the Black Sea and the trade routes that it yields is an incredibly attractive possession, and if all three nations share it there will be no reasons for any future rulers of the nations to engage in conflict.

The sole reason the Astrakhan Khanate was divided the way it was is to allow people of the same origin to not be divided by the borders between our nations. The goal was to allow Cossack, Daghestan, and all other people of the north Caucases to be under Ottoman rule, while the Tatar people would live under Russian rule. We feel that if anything, the people of Turkestan, on the eastern coast of the Kaspian Sea should be aligned with the Ottoman Empire, but the land was not included in this discussion since it is not ruled by Tatars.

We would be more than happy to allow the Ottoman Empire to control Azov, or to let it be a city that the three nations share, should that make the Sultan more likely to accept the treaty. And if there are any more demands the Ottoman Empire has, such as access to Russian markets, or Russian support in any other venture, Russia would be glad to offer it and to help our friends.

To the Great Ottoman Empire:
From the Safavid Empire of Persia:

In order to boost our relations, increase trade, and become a united Muslim people, we must forgo our differences and be willing to compromise and work together. It does not matter in today's atmosphere whether we are Shiite or Sunni. To the infidels in the west, we are all heretics that need to be converted or killed. Therefore, I propose at least one royal marriage. My daughters all wish to meet with your sons and my sons wish to see your daughters. Is it possible to arrange a meeting so our brethren can meet each other?

OOC: Wow, let's just put the biggest rivalry in the middle east aside for no good reason. Sure, sounds good. Maybe next the Jews and the Muslims can get along too.

I know, right! Saves me the resources! What, Saladin and Suleiman both had western wives, their sworn enemies. Why can't we do the same?

OOC: I think it has something to do with the centuries-old hatred and being one of the central tenants of the religion that is the foundation of your state. But hey, don't let me stop you.
