A people who live on top of Flathead Mountain in the far northwest corner of the Gillikin Country. Their heads are flat, appearing to be cut off just above the eyes and ears. They have no hair on the top of their heads, they have large, bright deep violet eyes, their ears stick out, and they have small stubby noses. They wear metallic clothing made from small thin discs of tin, iron, and silver wired together. Because of the shape of their heads they have no room for brains, therefore, each Flathead carries their brains in a can. There are 101 Flatheads, and each is a dictator of something or other. Their ruler is called theSupreme Dictator.
War, slavery, and the potlatch were regular institutions on the coast.* One of the most characteristic customs, especially prevalent along the coasts of Washington and British Columbia, was artificial head-flattening, but it did not obtain, curiously enough, among the Indians now called Flatheads (see Salish).
... Flat Heads. ... If your baby does develop a flat spot, use a wedge or rolled up blanket to prop baby on his side so the non-flat part of his head rests on the bed. ...

They formerly occupied the rough mountains at the extreme head of Missouri river, subsisting more by roots and berries than by hunting, as they were cut off from the buffalo country by their powerful enemies, the Blackfeet. They had houses of bark and reeds, as well as the skin tipi
Supreme Dictator Waka-waka of the Pointedheads rules his Ravalli tribal confederation with an iron fist (or believes he does). Each of his 100 co-rulers of Dictators each lay claim to one of the smaller tribes, though only half of them can actually lay down the law with their puny clubs (50 clubmen).
Waka-waka believes that from birth he was blessed by Sky and Earth to rule as far as he could see from the top of the highest mountains. That's what his grandaddy told him. He has great visions of conquest of the many primitive flat-skulls that surround his land... though his advisors Dictators Nyuk-nyuk of the Mudpuppies and Woob-woob-woob of the Cahoochies suggest he strengthen the unity of tribes first.
He has already made three decrees...
1) bark shall no longer be used for houses, but for armor and building primitive roads
2) The flathead catfish shall be trained to pull the rafts and increase the power of their five raft navy.
3) Anyone who is found flattening their heads of their children shall be disowned exiled from their tribe and subsequently conquered by the Pointedheads later and enslaved.
(note: Pointedheads, like the other tribes of north and central and south america have a strong immunity to all diseases - including smallpox, cowpox, aids, and syphillis)
