SirJethro's DyP II - "The Emperor's New Mod"

Here is the order I would try and build them.
1) Yellow - the Shellfish will help with growth
2) Pink from Yellow
2a) Red From Gao
3) Light Blue from Yellow
3a) Green from Gao

What do you guys think

:goodjob:
I agree with both SJ and Kal-el. ICS style will probably be more useful as our cities aren't going to grow much for millenia.

So is this a 'got it,' Kal-el? :)

In the year 2470 BC a young noble by the name of Kal-Kal-elahmihn takes the title of Mansa. Looking around at his land his only thought is, "Go forth and prosper."

2430 BC
Our Southern scout continues his exploration through Sioux territory. Our Northern Scout explores the jungle in search of fresh water.

2390 BC
Our Worker, Joe, finishes the road he is working on and moves to start working on the road that will connect our soon to be newly founded city Kal-el. Our intrepid scout, N'Djamena, reaches the southern tip of the world, the Sioux have built the settlement of Wounded Knee there. An old Sioux squaw tells N'Djamena that the settlement was named after a great struggle between one of the Sioux's ancient heros and the Great Creator. In that struggle the Sioux Hero, Little Bear wrestled the Great Creator for the survival of his people. Little Bear succeeded in wrestling the Great Creator to the ground scraping the Great One's knee on a stone. The Great Creator's blood spilled out on the soil and where each drop of blood fell, bright red fruit trees sprung up from the ground and provided enough food for the Sioux people to survive on the Earth.

2350 BC
Our Sages have learned the Secret of Masonry. We should build a might monument to our gods. They will bless us and increase our influence across the world. They will direct their thinking to developing better ways for our people to live together.

We have established Kal-el on the western shores. Our wisest men begin to congregate there. Joe is busy building a road to our new town.

In Gao a group of young men complete their right of passage and are now mighty Mali Warriors. We will send them to protect the new settlement of Kal-el and begin training Spearmen to help protect our people from the annoyed Sioux.

N'Djamena is heading back north, hopefully he can leave the Sioux territory before they get any angrier with us.

2310 BC
Zinder will go stand watch for Barbarians coming out of the Northern Mountains.

N'Djamena continues his trek north.

2270 BC
The Wisemen have arrived in Kal-el, we are sending Tax Collectors who should arrive in five turns.

Mansa Kal-Kal-elahmihn spends his time talking with Songsten Gampo and Crazy Horse. Crazy Horse has Pottery and wants Masonry and 10 gold. I pass for now. Songsten Gampo can only offer us 30 gold for Masonry, we pass on that too.

2230 BC
Again we twiddle our thumbs.

2190 BC
The Sioux are sending out another Clan. That will be their fourth city.

2150 BC
N'Djamena seems to be blocking the Sioux Clan from building where they want to. He will see how long he can forestall their settlement. The Sioux Tribal Guardian peeks its head over the hills to the south of Gao.

2110 BC
Joe finishes the road to Kal-el and will begin building a road south.

Tibet founds Gartokh.

2070 BC
We trade Masonry and 18 gold to Tibet for Domestication, pigs appear near Kal-el. We trade Masonry and 3 gold to the Sioux for Pottery, no new resources show up.

The Sioux establish Oglala.

Notes:

Notes:
I don't know how we can increase our expansion. We need to get out of this Chiefdom as soon as possible.

Urbanization in seven turns.

Joe must have good balance.
Sorry, it's late ;)

Minor corrections to the spreeadsheet (civ aggression levels) and build queue file (no maintenance on slave markets). Not a big deal really.

Nice descriptive write-up, Kal-el. :goodjob:

The lack of fresh water is balanced by the fact that we have the only source of Iron on the continent; Sounds like an early war may be the way to go.

Quokka is up, unless Sir Jethro frees up, or Lord All Mighty jumps in.

not me

Zinder is standing on the only other source of Iron and if you move fast you can get the only source of horses which is just south of Kal-el.

There are three sources of Elephants, one of them is very near Gartokh the other two are still up for grabs but I am betting that Tibet gets at least one more of them.

I got it.

The map didn't get any prettier since my last turn.

God I hope there's a land bridge to some fresh water east of Lhasa, or even to some better land.

I don't know how we are going to pull off an early war, what's our production like? Swords and spears? I don't see any Iron down south.

Kal-Kal-elahmihn

Didn't he have a song called mahna mahna?

Fun to see Kal El in the fray. Keep this up guys! :goodjob:

Inherited Turn
I flip through all our cities and I’m satisfied with everything I see

2030
Kal-el Tax Collector=>Hardy Clan. Move the citizen to the pigs to speed growth

1990 ……

1950 ……

1910 N’Djeama uncovers the area south of Lhasa and the mystery of a land bridge is solved. Nope. There is however 1 tile of freshwater directly south of Lhasa that’s all.

1870 still nothing except the very cool looking Otomo Spearman in Lhasa fortified.

I The Siuox ring up and demand 23g, which I reluctantly give them.

1830 ……

1790 Urbanization discovered. Researching Writing in 17 at +3gpt

1750 ……

1725 ……

1700 Gao Hardy Clan=>African Warrior
Head the Clan and Warrior towards Pink Dot. I don’t want anything to come between us and our Horsies.

Here's the full island and my proposed dotmap

I'm all for getting the Horses now. In my other SG we got surprised by the AI expansion and they grabbed all our Spices. I don't want to lose the Horses, and don't forget the Sioux have a horse based UU as well, the Mounted Warrior.

I'm available first thing tomorrow (Monday) morning (8:30 EST). If no one else has posted a got it by then, I'm going to jump back in.

BTW...I'm considering starting another DyP succession game to try to replicate one of my favorite Civ3 wins: a 3CC spaceship victory on Monarch. DyP should make it really interesting. I started a 5CC spaceship SP game on Monarch and I'm near the end of the Industrial era with 60,000gp in the early 1900s. I'm pretty sure I'll get that one assuming I don't run out of time. I haven't even looked at the Modern Era to see how it has changed yet.

Anyway, let me know if any of you are interested.

Got it....I'm going to switch spots with you for right now cromagnon.

A brief history of Sir Jethro the First:

Inherited Turn - Man....we's little.

1675 BC Set settler towards pink dot. Horses we will have.

1650 BC Sioux are building Stonehenge.

1625 BC Gao: Warrior>Hardy Clan(17) ...growth in 16 turns.

1600 BC Tibet gives 68 for Urbanization, Sioux give 32.

1575 BC New town formed: SirJethro Stables...Wiseman in 5.
OT

1500 BC Goa expands culturally and brings Iron into our borders. It looks like we control the only Iron and Horses on our Island. :)

1475 BC Joe completes road connecting both Horses and SirJethro Stables to our empire. Joe's gonna build an Iron road next. SirJethro Stables: Wiseman>Tax Collector(10)

1650 BC !!! - Sioux champion and hardy clan seen heading towards the vicinity of our blue dot. I expect we'll lose that spot.

There's my ten. We have Writing in 2 turns, 203gp and +4gpt. Sioux and Tibet now have Iron Working and Weaving. I'll leave it to the next person to trade. We are still very weakly defended, so don't piss anyone off yet.

SJ

HERE IS THE SAVE.

I meant to mention: We lost the eastern pink dot (the jungle/elephant spot) to Tibet.
