I kind of want to go through Boring Time. I'm kind of itching to get to the colonial era as fast as I can, because VANDAL COLONIES are just that cool, and I'm too impatient to wait.

Also, a little note on what I'm planning for the future of this NES:

Originally, after update 10, I was planning on doing 15 year turns up to 1300 (20 updates) and 10 year turns from there up to 1500 (another 20 updates) then moving this NES along into a second phase for the Age of Discovery.
But I am an impatient person, and I hate waiting that long. The talk of moving the NES forward 800 years (even if it was sarcastic/joking) got me thinking.
So here's what I have decided.

As soon as we hit update 10, this NES will go into BT mode, and there will be a sequence of five 100 year BTs to bring this NES up to 1500. From there, part 2 of this NES will begin, encompassing the Age of Discovery in 5 year turns, For that I hope to get to at least 1600 (20 updates). I haven't decided at which point the scope of the NES will expand to encompass the whole world (1000 or 1500)

EDIT: If there is a major war in 1000, then the NES will continue at the current (or slower) pace until the war ends.

In my opinion BT means turns that are just too long to work. I haven't actually seen BT in action, but from the discription, it doesn't sound pretty. To much can happen in 100 years to be condensed into a sane turn. World war two was less than a decade. If we introduce BT, wars will take hundreds of years and consist mostly of nothing happening...

To be fair, I never approved of the Empire's abandoning of Orthodoxy in the first place, but I said nothing since I had given up my original reservation of the state way back at the start of the NES. In other news, I just finished reading the entire thread, save a few of the less significant stories. But I'll probably just go back to being Orthodox, because I want to and because I have various plans for the future which shall remain secret.

Well, with BTs, it's possible to do multiple wars in the same turn. (Mind you, the large-scale medieval wars did tend to take multiple decades and span multiple conflicts - see Crusades, 100 years war)
And yeah, look at CI's gap for a good example of what a single BT would look like. Remember, there's going to be five of them, so if that does happen there's lots of room for warfare.
