We are willing to join the Holy Roman Empire as per your plan, so long as those two polities shown on the map between the Papal State and Venice are united as one kingdom, whose seat is up to the Emperor and/or Pope's discretion.
OOC: A couple of things.
1. is the Papal State an HRE member state?
2. What is the Frankish Empire getting renamed to?
3. How should I list all of the member states? By that I mean are the members' names staying the same or should I rename it to something, i.e. Electorate of Aquitaine, Venice, etc.?
4. Should I have posted this in the group?

Personally I think it should either be the same names we have now or "State of x"

King Iaonnis
Following the abrupt death of King Alexandros II, his brother, Iaonnis Valerius took the throne. He quickly gained a reputation following some of his early actions on the throne. It was he who ended the Byzantine Crusade, and he who made the Vandal Declaration. But one of his most influential actions was the Homage.
At the time of his ascension in 859 AD, Sicily was in a perilous position. To the north, all of Italy was uniting under the banner of the Holy Roman Empire. To the south were constant Vandal raids and a grand Muslim alliance. And to the east was the Hellenic Byzantine Empire. Of the three, the Byzantines were no doubt the closest to them. Despite the difference in religion and the fact they had just ended a war, the Byzantines were the only Greek nation besides them. And they were also very powerful.
So, faced with these opposing forces, Sicily had to choose or it would be taken by one of them soon enough. The Byzantines were the choice. Sicily entered an agreement with the Byzantine Empire. Their troops could be used by the Byzantines in their wars, and in return, they were formally recognized and given protection.

Another of King Iaonnis's noteworthy actions was the Vandal Declaration. At his ascension, Vandal raids on Sicily were becoming more and more common. Plunder was regularly taken from small coastal villages, and even the great cities of Sicily were not safe. To that end, King Iaonnis made a bold public declaration. As recorded by a scholar of the age, he said, "For too long have the barbarians of Carthage thought us weak and easy prey. From now on, we shall not allow this. For every raid reported on our land, two will be delivered in Vandal land. We will show no mercy."

Homage by the King of Sicily has been recognized. An attack (or raid) on them is an attack on the Byzantine Empire.

1. No. Different color. It is a religious state, not part of the secular empire.
2. Who cares? Ask nuke if he wants to change it.
3. Each is a country with stats, add a (part of the HRE) to their name.
4. Maybe in the OOC thread?
