The soldier bent over the rolling longship and retched up his supper. The rolling sea did not help his stomach. Another man came up and slapped him on the back. "So the sea doesn't agree with you buddy?" and the soldier retched again.
The soldier held hard onto the wooden side of the ship as land appeared out of nowhere and they came to a steady stop on a beach. He could barely see the bobbing heads of dragons in the brisk morning air. One by one the long ships landed on the shore and finally, a light came on in the village they were near...
The soldier creeped towards the village through the damp grass when a dog began to bark. Suddenly, the village was a flurry of activity and the soldier began to charge. Taking the village was a blur as actual soldiers had come to defend this one. At the end of the fight, he sat there wondering to himself; "where did these cuts come from?"
The next day, the long ships were pulled out to sea and the troops began the long long march.
