SKNES: Architecture of Aggression

OOC: I wonder through what means the Kingdom of Axum is relaying these messages to Europe? :P

From: The Zengid Emirate
To: Axum

You should save the lives now, before we double our army yet again. We have but used a fraction of our might to crush you; we will not hesitate to see it through to the end. Surrender, and live as honest, true and happy Muslims.

OOC: Magic.

IC: We will never surrender. You may crush every bit of Aksumite resistance, but our spirit will forever live on. We will not even consider any peace treaty that does not involve a fully independent Coptic Axum with at least pre-war borders and Socotra.

I don't really want them to surrender. I'm having far too much fun slaughtering them.

OOC: Gee thanks. Why did you have to help the Fatimids? I could have conquered Egypt by now.

Alas, your spirit will die, along with all of your soldiers when the next wave claims Upper Egypt for the glory that is Islam.

I enjoy the occassional slaughter here and there. It just so happened that you invaded Egypt at the point where I got my economy large enough, I felt like swinging some weight around. Nothing against you, aside from the fact you're a dirty infidel. ;)

Upper Egypt is where Axum is, no?

EDIT: Eh, approximately. I was being lazy.

Since I'll eventually be in control of it, I'll just re-name it New Zengidia, to cut out the middle-man.

I wonder what the Fatamids think about the Zengids doing that.

EDIT: Technically you two should be paranoid about each other. They are Shia and you are Sunni, and back then that difference was more important than the split between Orthodox and Catholicism, at least until the official Schism.

Oh, well, that just changes everything. I guess I'd rather have Egypt fall to Christians.

If it's alright, life has calmed down significantly for me, so I'd like to rejoin as either Novgorod or a similar nation (Or some form of rebellion?).

Well now that school is over, I'm feeling like I might have enough time to participate in a NES again. Can I have Byzantium please?

OOC: Damn, I was hoping to have an NPC master who wouldn\'t be a competent overlord. Guess I\'ll actually have to play the loyal vassal now.

MusicLord is confirmed as Byzantium.
Popcornlord, if you want to play as a rebellion contact me privately.

Also, a little note on what I'm planning for the future of this NES:

Originally, after update 10, I was planning on doing 15 year turns up to 1300 (20 updates) and 10 year turns from there up to 1500 (another 20 updates) then moving this NES along into a second phase for the Age of Discovery.
But I am an impatient person, and I hate waiting that long. The talk of moving the NES forward 800 years (even if it was sarcastic/joking) got me thinking.
So here's what I have decided.

As soon as we hit update 10, this NES will go into BT mode, and there will be a sequence of five 100 year BTs to bring this NES up to 1500. From there, part 2 of this NES will begin, encompassing the Age of Discovery in 5 year turns, For that I hope to get to at least 1600 (20 updates). I haven't decided at which point the scope of the NES will expand to encompass the whole world (1000 or 1500)

EDIT: If there is a major war in 1000, then the NES will continue at the current (or slower) pace until the war ends.

Discussion?

(Also please note that I may not respond for 2-3 days at a time due to crappy internet)

I don't really like Boring Time. Besides, at this rate, there will be so many major wars that we won't have any boring time anyway. I personally want to do your first proposal, with 50 updates until the Age of Discovery. It'll be interesting.

But it's your NES, so I'll respect all your decisions.
