The Polish city of Gdansk was long an important center of trade and commerce. It was much different from the warlike tribal fortress of Grodno and Warsaw, center of the Romuva faith. Now, the lord of the city saw the armies of Brandenburg aproaching. This state, which had agressivly pushed polish tribes from its side of the river now threatened the cities and tribes of our glorious homeland. They marched under the banner of a false, alien faith. They bore no respect for the gods and spirits of the world but one god uncontested to rule over its many fascades. No being could be such as they claimed, ruling contesting elements of the sea and the fire, the earth and the sky. Surely it is through the differences of the mny lords of the world that it exists and not on the whims of one. And yet these invaders from the west marched with that as their banner and through their lies thretened the ruination of our glorious homeland.

Many tribal nomads camped outside the city. Horsemen and men of the forrests rallied to their homelands defense. A greater army yet was commanded by him, Lord of Gdansk, and yet the lords of the west, fallen shards of Rome, marshalled greater armies still. Suddenly a vision came to him. he saw the gods, Dievas of the sky, Perkūnas of Thunder and Laima, godess of Luck. Yet they were different from what he had known them as. It seems that in this moment of doom, the gods chose to reveal their true form to him, and their true names. The gods of the North, Thor and Odin, the true grander faces of the gods of old. And the chief of Gdansk rose, and looked to the North where the gods have already shown their true power and guise. It is from there that strength will come to lead his men to the glorious war. To those who fall in battle, the favor of the gods will go. To those who stand, Thor will grant power to fell the Fallen Kings of The West, followers of the lies of Loki. To War and Glory as Thor commands!



The other chiefs of Poland saw the armies coming to their lands and saw the victory of Gdansk and were forced to acknowledge that the true form of the Gods was revealed. Poland's cities and tribes slowly converted as the power of the new gods was felt by all. Soon the Christian invaders shall also feel the smiting hammer of Thor.

Nope, we are warning them to reconsider while telling them what the German Christians aren't going to mess around with people they like anymore-basically offering a truce.

Technically, ALL outstanding diplomacy before teh declaration is moot as people everywhere needs to reconsider exactly what they are offering. but then of course, misunderstanding and stuff like that is part of the fun.

I remember reading in the records how you defended Brythonia's conversion, where a King was FORCED to convert, then waged war against his outraged brethren. It seems that it is perfectly fine when YOU do it, but an outrage when WE do it, even when our conversion was willing, not coerced.

You are mistaken, the king converted by himself. The majority of his followers did not agree with him and a war started. That king, using the fact that all the religions hate eachother managed to destroy his enemies one by one. Then Catavalu declared war on us, and we attacked them once we had destroyed their army in our own lands.
We have not started a war since our nation was founded.
