Small Observations General Thread (things not worth separate threads)

An image from the army commander XP tree, i've failed to see it anywhere else in gallery or this thread.

I don't necessarily hate it if they get rid of "faith" as a yield, as long as there's something else that will control the religious game. I wonder if they might just give bonuses through civics or something rather than have any special yields towards religion.
One thing that bugged me about Civ 6 was the proliferation of different yields that all did similar things.

Faith just ended up as White Gold - it had more or less the same function, buying units, GP etc.

Culture just ended up as Purple Science with its parallel tech tree.

And don’t get me started on the mess of Influence/Envoys/Diplomatic Favour/Grievances. I hope they have greatly streamlined diplomatic gameplay with the new Influence currency fulfilling a multitude of roles.

By the way, did I notice correctly that there are no eurekas/inspirations anymore?

I like this change if it's true, it made tech pacing really hard to balance and required you to always repeat the same rituals to optimize research (and to meta-game by doing them far in advance)
I think that’s right. I recall reading here that some or other YouTuber who’s played the game confirmed it.

I liked them, but I'm also not sad to lose them.

Do we know if cross platform saves between PC and PS5 will be available ? If yes, will it require to use the same 2K account on both platforms ?
"Yes! Players who link their 2K Account to the platform used to play Sid Meier's Civilization VII will share game progression to any platform linked with the same account."

I'm not sure what they mean by progression and if that include saves

In an Age Transition you can set up different "presets" to save time in selecting items

I think it's not for age transition, but for advanced start

There is a similar screen about chosing perks without the "advanced start part" , but I believe when you start a game in ahe 2 or 3 you can chose more perks equivalent to previous ages. Also the perks were like "100p gold" "put 3 wall" "spearmen" which rmeinds me of civ4 advanced start

Haven't seen anything linked to this in all threads, so sorry if I'm repeating something everyone knows...

But watching one of Quill's video, he mentions that individual military units DON'T level up and have a promotion tree of their own !

So it seems that ONLY the commanders willl have a enhancement capacity through promotion trees !

I think this is a huge change !

There is no indication if Dates are luxury or not, apart from maybe "+2 happiness", wonder if resources would be separated into luxury/bonuses like in Civ 6. Interesting what yields on tile show 1 food and 1 production, but in tooltip there is an icon for something else with 1. And +2 food from Dates seems to not apply to the tile. Or maybe it is unimproved? And +2 food and happiness would be added to tile when it would be improved? I guess it is unimproved, below yields of the tile there is another symbol, blue circle and plants, I guess it represents that you can create a plantation on this tile.

That makes sense to me.
