Small Observations General Thread (things not worth separate threads)

I did not print everything I saw in the review videos, but on the Yue it's indeed how's called in game, the UI was (settlement) "Kuaiji of the Yue people", it's in modern Zhejiang province.
Also just to add a thing I forget, apparently Dwarawati is an separated IP from Mon, unless Mon got renamed to Dwarawati. And about Ayuttahaya and Sukhothai, we didn't see then apperaring in any photage, at least I didn't see it yet.
Confucius introduction video also revealed Si Thep as an IP, with Zhuge Nu demonstration.
And this associated to a newly discovered (and uncovered) giant structure found in what's now Si Thep District, Petchaboon Province of Thailand.

Just a small thing I noticed in gameplay videos but It's such a nice clear detail. When you first meet independent peoples they are all rendered with black clothing on the diplomacy screen, but once you influence them enough to become a City State they now have the colors of the suzerain.

I think I'ts neat, you can tell at a glance who sides with whom.

I know, the thing is that from older photage, Si Thep is the settlement used for the Mon, it was in the UI and all; and now with the reviews I did see Si Thep spawning again once but the player didn't went in the diplomacy screen with them, but also the Dwarawati spawning another review, they didn't end up creating a settlement so I can't say if both a 2 different IP's or the same one but renamed.

I noticed that as well. It's a nice visual cue

I’m now hoping that an IP being present doesn’t rule out that civ showing up soon (even as soon as CotW) if the Maurya and a Magadhan IP are both in the game!
They can certainly change city-states to make room for civilizations, as they've done it before, but it doesn't make sense to use a name for a city-state if you have short-term plans to use it for a civilization.

Any idea if IPs or city-states can found another city? Or conquer and keep one?

I loved in Civ 5 how sometimes a city-state made its own little empire.
No way to know, but I doubt it.

Units' variation and details are on another level (as are the graphics). Even inside the same unit!

It does if they have the ability to have a Civ AND City State ...just not in the same game. (in one Game Prussia is a Modern IP, in another it is a Modern Civ... and it could be an Exploration IP in any game)

Also with no unique icon and ability it’s super easy to change IPs. It’s just an edit of a few lines of text. A couple of minutes at most.

That would be an unnecessary complication with a variety of problematic edge cases (the game doesn't know which civs the players will choose) for no benefit. There's no advantage in using the name "Prussia" for an IP if you know you want to use it for a civilization.

We are speaking of what is probable, not what is possible or impossible. It's very unlikely that they would make Ottoman Istanbul a city-state if it was going to be a civilization in an upcoming DLC.

You do make a good point. With so many city states it is easy to avoid some because they would end up same as an existing current civ, as long as the city state and civ are from the same age. Now the Ottomans city state is exploration. I wonder if Ottomans, be earlier or later, would be added as an exploration civ instead of a Modern one as many have been guessing.

As per Raptor’s latest video, the gameplay unlock for Prussia is “Have Three Army Commanders.” (Timecode 12:00) Seems like the easiest one so far.
For any prediction fans, this makes the likelihood of a Militaristic Prussia near certain. I wonder what the other attribute will be? General mechanics wise, we are currently missing a pure domination rush Civ like Persia or Mongolia, and I'd rather Prussia is hit with that than the Mughals...

That would be interesting considering they look like they might get unique "Enlightenment" Great people. Maybe they will be Militaristic/Scientific?

Prussia Militaristic? Now there's a bold prediction... 😜

As per Ursa’s new video (timecode 18:52) in the Explorarion plague crisis you can unlock a Physician unit (likely the Plague Doctor from that one short)

Plagues can damage units. Killed his army commander
Zakh lost a bunch of units to the Antiquity plague too. Got watch to make sure they don't sit on the miasma.
