What if you made it a little like the present splat smiley, in that there is an element that isn't present immediately, but gets added as the animation goes along? It starts out as just a face (the smug face probably) filling the whole space (i.e. no body as yours presently has), the microphone comes up from the bottom of the smiley, and at the same time is coming forward, to the top of its head. As it comes forward, it becomes big enough to be seen as a microphone; pause, to let viewers register it as a microphone; then it just drops to the bottom of the smiley, but staying that same big size. (not quite as (relatively) big as the fish in splat; about the size of the swords in ninja)

Aww, I can do it - just, that's the partisan unit from CivII, and it would have been awesome if it had worked.

Look, if you want to go with the one you have already developed, I think you can, and here's why. Each smiley has a name. So this one would presumably be called :mic drop: That will coach people on what they are supposed to be seeing in it.
