So who is tomorrow's cutting edge oppressed peoples?

A majority.

Hey majorities can be oppressed too! Look at Rwanda and pre-2003 Iraq!

AIs! There's going to be this one AI that looks a lot like that stupid kid from that movie abotu seeing dead people, and he's going to be the most humanish AI yet, and some stuff will happen, and itll be crazy.

Rednecks :)

I think atheists in the West have a totally baseless and rather laughable persecution complex.
Funnily enough, I tend think something similar about Christians ...

However, "the West" is hardly a useful unit of analysis here. In America, atheists are a fairly small minority, and politicians are expected to publically proclaim their faith. Here, most folks are irreligious, and politicians are supposed to shut up about their religious beliefs or lack thereof. When Americans speak of society and religion, I sometimes have to remind myself they're not actually from Pakistan.

West as in Europe/USA/Canada West or West Coast USA?

alright, now to reveal my intentions for asking this, which will probably bore you all!

I'm trying to find the group that is getting beef or no recognition as legit now, but will start to soon because... I'm trying to find the next club big music scene :D Blacks in the 50s 60s and 70s (and 80s) had rock and funk and disco (and hip hop); gays in the 70s and 80s had disco and house and techno and hi-nrg (leading to trance) etc. My hypothesis is that if you have a group that will associate as outcastes with one another, you will find a community that has different tastes from the mainstream, but eventually the mainstream will absorb something from whichever groups become legitimized or popularized, thus meaning that at least one of these types will result in The Next Big Thing.

Edit: error--gotta credit blacks with house, techno, and hi-rng too. There was definetly a lot of demographic overlap.

please no hispanic rap stuff.......can't take any more.....

nothing against the people though. Just the perpetuation of rap in a new and equally pointless form.

What about about polygamists?

*still waiting for someone to say Pyronecrobestialitists

Reggaeton (which is what I assume you are referring to) is mainstream though, so its not up-and-coming. However it will probably influence some better music.

I guess I was thinking people like Susan B. Anthony and the women from the 1910's who chained themselves to the White House gates until the 19th was passed...

Technically speaking, atheists are actually barred by law from some political positions in some states, IIRC. I don't really think you can say that for any particular religion.

Some exaggerate, yes. But go to university (or at least the ones around here) and you'll see that there is much hatred toward the majority (white, male Christians)
