SOAPBOX: Gallipoli + Prometheus: Best Works of Art in History

Of course yet those movies did haunt me as a little kid, particularly The Road Warrior and I can't really explain why they effected me so much. Some kids were afraid of Chucky, I was afraid of Australians.

Bodymelt was another Australian movie that freaked me out as a kid. Also, I watched Snowtown a couple of years ago and it was truly disturbed by it. I always mention it as an example of a movie that has almost no gore or gratuitous violence and is still horrifying just because of the acting and atmosphere.

I used to drive though snowtown, *shiver*, latter I lived in footscray and Russle Crows movie " Romper Stomper" came out *shiver* i think it's because the settings are just so "suburban/people next door' it gets to me

"Hi, this is Ridley Scott. I did a prequel to Alien that was really just Alien remade. I rule."

Regarding Battlefield Earth... THEY STOPPED HALFWAY THROUGH THE DAMNED BOOK! Also butchered the first half that they did make.
As someone who read all 1400 pages or whatever, I was more offended by the way they just stopped half way through than I was by the terrible quality of the movie. Maybe they thought they could do a sequel?

I was friends with a guy in college who liked to say "I'm outacontroller" The full line though (which I've forgotten) I thought his impression was very funny at the time. Thanks to him that's one of few parts I remember about the first mad max.
