SOAPBOX: Gallipoli + Prometheus: Best Works of Art in History

Except it contained possibly the worst plot device in cinema history. Our hero gets saved from being sacrificed at the altar by, check this, a solar frigging eclipse.

I mean Jesus, getting saved by an eclipse is ridiculous enough, but solar? They're very rare.
Gibson stole it from Hergé.

EDIT: @Dachs, that's fair. Still, sci fi is his wheelhouse (or he seems to enjoy it the most) and I don't think it is beyond the realm of possibility that this was his intention.

Not many people have seen the original.

Spoiler :
Confusion with no 2

I have seen Mad Max, Road Warrior and that third one.

All were spectactular movies of the 1st degree.

Max Rockatansky was in the police in the first one.
You need to see it to understand no 2.

Regarding Battlefield Earth... THEY STOPPED HALFWAY THROUGH THE DAMNED BOOK! Also butchered the first half that they did make.
