The wave of power that was the Hakisho was finally slowing down. Despite the great victories that Kyroke had won, he was still unable to secure dominance over the other tribes. It seemed as if Imakina* itself was aiding them in avoiding his forces. In addition, his men were growing tired, and he knew not to push them. He had secured a mighty empire, and sought to improve the lands he had gained. The great city of Okasina was to be expanded, its harbor, made larger, to accommodate more fishing boats. more importantly, a temple would be created for his father, Nagarta, and a new palace from which Kyroke would reign was to be built alongside it.
Across the ocean, the Renota continued along the path to prosperity. Abundant farmland had allowed for a minor surplus in food, fueling population growth. This caused the tribe to expand its borders, which put it in contact with the native tribes further north**. These tribes had heard of the destruction that had befell those to the south, and greeting the travelers with fierce words and a show of arms. It was strange, then, that the reply they received was not one of aggression, but of respectful bows and cautious smiles. Tensions cooled somewhat, but remained in the air.
