Inca - Colombian War

Red_Spy's claims are null since he attacked, so let's see how this goes. Each state has 15 provinces, and if Red_Spy wins, he will become a major power.

Assuming I have clearance to automate his forces to the full extent, I recruit 4 armies. This is to utilise the Agricultural advantage.

Colombia, meanwhile, takes advantage of its scientific strength and beefs up its army tech to 4, giving it 2 extra points in each battle.

Now, the moment of truth - quantity vs. quality.

First, the Inca send 2 armies against 1.

1 1
3 1

Colombia's advantage boosts the first army though the Incas would be destroyed anyway, while in the second battle it makes it a tie, destroying 2 Inca forces.

With that, 2 more Colombian armies go against the Inca.

4 5
4 5

2 more are destroyed.

Alright then... the Inca don't give up. They send 3 against 1; there's no way they can lose!

3 2
1 5
3 2

Ffffff!

All 7 Incan armies have been destroyed. The Incans logically move forces into position for a counterattack.

The Sapa Inca hopes that, since defenders seem to win the day so far, they will be able to at least keep troops from being lost.

1 1

Battle one allows Colombia's superior tactics and training to overwhelm the Incans.

4 4

Battle two follows this route.

1 2
3 2

In total, the Inca have lost 11 armies this turn to Colombia's 0.

In case you were all curious:

Battles in the first Era (Tech 0 - 15) are on a scale of 1-5, making combat very easy to get leverage in. Even if the Incans had upgraded their army tech instead of purchased more armies, they would have still lost most battles.

Well, I will still defend, till I got enough forces to counterattack.

That is some bad luck.

Also I did upgrade my miliatry (I ment the amry tech, not buyong units )

Feeling an enlarged Colombia against its interests, Brazil has researched Army Tech 3 and given it to Tawansitsuyo as a gift, saving them 20% on the tech and also giving them more parity with the Colombians.

Note: It is now possible to gift techs. This means you research the tech (complete with your bonuses!) for them, accordingly. I.e. Scientific State A spends 12 of a tech that costs 15(level 3), and gives it to State B, which is only at level 2 of that category.

This will enable Scientific Strengths and National Foci to be more lucrative.

CIS Claims
Use 46 Income to Army Research
I offer Albania a Trade agreement and I'm willing to Trade my two Italian Provinces for Sicily and Crete
I accept Slats trade agreement
EDIT: Don't claim Tunisia, claim the province west of my two other African claims

I don't like this, as it doesn't really make sense to be able to share tech, but whatever...

Wait so if for example Civ'ed researches army 2 for me, how much would it cost me given that I am scientific?

Spoiler :
Trireme_by_Kosmandis.jpg

The Confederation of Island states has decided to invest into new technology, a new ship building technique that a mathematician by the name of Akrikon has come up with. He has made a new revolutionary designed called the Trireme, a ship that speeds through water. The real innovation is that the ship will have a ram on the front so it can sink other enemy ships quickly and the hull beneath the water line is covered by copper plates so seaweed and rotten wood don't slow the ship down. The first Trimere will be name the "Invincible" and the CIS will rule the seas!

You're on a Civilisation forum. Do you see what is wrong with this statement? :p

Well, it's how much it would cost him. He gets 10% off, so instead of paying 10, he pays 9. So you could give him 9 gold and in turn, he'd research it for you.

Some say this gives an unfair advantage to civs near Scientific countries; not true; every continent has at least one Scientific country. If anything, this is incentive not to wipe out NPCs. ;)

---

Tech trading will not be in effect until next turn; Brazil is an exception because it willingly gave up technology, rather than making it a profitable enterprise.

Yeah, its not a terribly huge deal. I think the way I worded it made it clear that it wasn't a huge deal. I mean, I didn't get angry or anything, I just stated disapproval and shrugged.

Strictly speaking though, I've heard CiV doesn't allow tech trading, and if this is accurate, I agree with the decision. It just, you know, makes more sense overall. I'd rather see Diplomacy in Civ have more diplomatic options, like getting them to embargo people, paying them to take a city and give it to you, exc. although in IOT you can already do that, so I see absolutely no reason to allow tech trading.

That said, its still up to you. Its not a huge deal, as Florida will win no matter what;)

Well now, this definitely better not turn into a discussion on the relative merits of C-IV and CiV...

Don't worry. While I did not specify its use in the OP, I will _definitely_ have to wield the banhammer if that happens. Almost as quick as if the topic degenerated into RL politics.

I won't take it there. I mentioned one specific issue as it regarded to tech in this game. In no way was I trying to compare CIV to CiV, in fact, I haven't even played CiV.

Do with it what you will. I don't care enough to argue about it. I think its unrealistic because you can't do it in real life. But it won't ruin the game if you keep it. I just think the game will be of slightly higher quality if you don't.

Remember, making the game simpler and more realistic at the same time is a rare chance. Here you have it...

What happened to my claims in Italy? I had two claims in Italy. Even if the blue guy there claimed before I did, shouldn't I still have Northern Italy?

...uhhhh, well damn. It appears the God Mobian (GM) forgot your claim in Northern Italy as you only have 14 provinces. I'll reshuffle...
