Well I've calculated the incomes, so after events and whatnot, update should be soon.
While the Salt Empire enjoys hegemony right now... let not your heart be troubled; changes in the next turn will make the Pax Salicana's exponentially growing power a thing of the past.
Tensions between Albania and Austria remain high, but who will crack first? With the Salt Empire guaranteeing both sides, any declaration is suicide.
To salt the wound, the United Empire, eager to show its strength, has dispatched a fleet of 5 ships to the Mediterranean. Given the UE's superior naval training compared to the Albanians, this is a cause for concern!
Likewise, tensions remain high between Songhai and Liberia... but Liberia has made an effort to train its troops better, and has succeeded.
Tensions in Europe probably have surged with the Echidna Empire's joining the ranks of the Triple Alliance, by merit of being an Ottoman vassal.
The Brazilian Republic has found itself undermined by a force of mysterious invaders, and has become the Palatinate of Enerjak.
Events:
These are small variations that will spice the game up a bit. Each event happens at least once a turn; for the first few turns, there are only positive events, but each one has an "evil twin."
Economic Boom - 3 occurrences
This represents a boost of +50 gold to your income.
Auralia, Maya, Antilles!
Recession - 1 occurrences
A recession hurts your economy, and takes 20 gold from your coffers! Recessions only affect you if you have the economy for an era - Era 1 is Econ 1-5, Era 2 6-10, and so on. So if you're in Era 2 but your Econ is 5 or less, you won't feel any effects.
Albania was hit with a recession.
Scientific Breakthrough - 3 occurrences
Gives you +50 TC(can be exclusively spent on technology) for the turn. Flawed Research does the opposite.
Albania, Madagascar, Java.
Flawed Research - 1 occurrence
Removes 20 TC from your country! Always targets your most advanced tech, and will be biased against your focus.
Slavic Union!
Settler Rush - 2 occurrences
Gives +1 claim to your nation.
Florida gets 7 claims.
Siberia gets 1 claim.
Casus Belli - occurrence
Ordinary border disputes and failed spy actions.
-Albania was discovered trying to incite a revolt in the Habsburg Empire
-Habsburg Empire has a casus belli on the Echidna Empire
-Florida got a casus belli on Colombia; Colombia's Army Tech is 7 to Florida's 2, however, so they will get instant victories!
Revolts:
-Colombia had a revolt - 2 provinces.
Succession:
-The Ottoman Sultan has passed on. Since there are two states, the throne naturally is contested... the throne passes to Enerjak! The Habsburgs can contest this if they desire.
-In a twist of irony, Enerjak himself has died! Another Enerjak must take the throne, but will he be Echidna?
The first roll has a 35, meaning the PU stays. However, Enerjak has a royal marriage with the Turks, Hyderabad, and Arabia! It has a 20% chance of passing to someone else...
And, Aurora damnit, it rolls a 19! The end is a reversal; the Ottomans inherit the throne themselves, thus reversing how things were.
Avatar Rembrandt, the true Enerjak by virtue of being Knuckles in disguise, is furious at this turn of events! That said, he can't spoil his charade by letting the world know of his supernatural status... and as such, he and a few close supporters board a ship across the Atlantic Ocean.
While his supporters consider him nuts, he explains that he remembers enough of his time's technology to build a vessel that can safely cross and how, given Mobius' status as a future Earth, he knows of a "Great Western Continent" where a new Enerjak Empire can be established... Never mind that the CIS has already plotted a route Westward, and has trade with a prominent state called "Brazil"...
The Avatar also plants a bomb in Enerjak's chambers before he leaves... the new pseudo-Enerjak will have a welcoming gift, the lifeless shells hanging in the ceiling above aside.
Notes/Misc.:
-Diplomatic's bonus is a bit too much; it has been nerfed to +25% to trade income instead of +100%, to be more in line with the other powers. Most powers add +20-25%, after all.
-Civics, due to their increasing uselessness, now have a new bonus. They add -1% to your RR if you are a Republic(increasingly liberal regime) or +10% inheritance chance if you are a monarchy for every point you have over the target nation. The latter benefit requires being in a PU!
-Centralised is pretty much not used by anybody, so it has been abolished. Mathalamus is the only non-NPC with Centralised as his Strength; he is free to replace it with whatever he desires.

hmm.. the new second power is a toss up between diplomatic and scientific. which one is better long term?
anyway, all gold into civics.
if echinda accepts, we will keep the guarantee, despite you being a vassal of the Ottomans. if you move to Brazil, please inform us of that fact, and we shall help you.
Depends. Scientific's 20% off all tech makes your cash base immense. Diplomatic makes your trade income swell, and trade becomes the lifeblood of the game in later phases - observe how colossal the Echidna Empire and Salt Empire's incomes are because of trade.
The Ottomans do not believe Spain's guarantee is necessary now that the Echidna people are within the ranks of the Triple Alliance.

Hold up. I still have a huge revolt risk if I declare war. If you are going to freaking nerf me by 400%, at the very least fix that. As is, I can no longer expand.
EDIT: And Economic or whatever is much more powerful than Diplomatic now.

Commercial is still 25% of the TOTAL, which includes Trade, without being nerfed by RR. I demand a trait switch. (You said you wouldn't change up mechanics in this game this is going to be Australia all over again. Particularly with the Ottomans with that much power.)
