Spring Patch Info

+2 MP if starting a turn on a hill.
So very, very wrong. I laughed entirely too hard.

Back on topic:

Emergencies should fail if only 1 person accepts. It's not really a coalition if only one person takes up the mantel. But the AI needs a better judge (maybe the AI cheats its join decision until after human players have chosen?) of when to join in.

So, the only thing we have for sure is the deadline for the patch unless they rename it to "winter patch".

Just to clarify, when is the end of spring in the northern hemisphere?

Good news is that by common understanding and for practical purposes (i.e. weather), summer starts on June 1, so less than a month until we get the patch!

It took me a few seconds too long to get this.

Back on topic of course. I wouldn't mind if my bombers flew a little faster. I'm still not ready to do quick combat (no animations), because I like the jet bomber animation, I just wish he flew a little faster. Anyone else still run with combat animations on?

Speaking of emergencies. I find it hilarious AI civs accept when they are down to 1 city and on the ropes, but surely he has hopes of capturing my capital of Paris. muahahaha. The French are devious ones this game, causing 2 betrayal emergencies against me. I really do like emergencies though, and wouldn't mind seeing them expanded.

Oh and along with automating defensive spies mentioned above, and city state projects primarily aimed at making money, please automate renewing future techs and civics.

This never bothered me much before as well, but when you play the game a different way, this is becoming quite annoying. It's like Firaxis never thought people would play the game past the 2/3rds point. They should have anticipated these things.

Oh and Summer starts around June 21st or Junes 22nd. Even though we are well above 100F by that point, we really don't get past 110F until June 25th or so.

I can't believe they made an expansion without providing a more modern bomber. Why is it that we can get to the end of the tech tree and we're still using some Cold War looking thing as our most advanced bomber?

nah, start of summer is closer to July 1.

Yup, summer starts July 1st. By June 1st you can safely take the snow tires off, though, so there is that.

In any event, I think we should take "Spring Patch" as aspirational, and not a firm commitment. :)

I also doubt that they're doing much with emergencies this patch, simply because I expect they would have highlighted it, just like they highlighted the expansion of the loyalty system to include religious effects.

I wonder if they noted the early critiques into the issues that could arise from attaching loyalty to religion (primarily what about Civs who don't have a religion of their own); and it's the realisation that this will become a big issue that has thrown a sizable spanner in the works?

For example, you could have a late game "climate change" emergency where players would have a certain number of turns to either delete their factories or replace them with a new solar plant building. If they fail the emergency, random tiles could turn to desert.

No. Just no. Whatever else you think about the media take on climate change, it's likely to result in less deserts, not more.

I agree. Like how a city be loyal toward other civs just because they have religion? There is only a limited amount of religions so this is somehow easy to be abused by the AI.

Yeah... a global warming mechanic should have the effort of maybe turning your deserts into jungles, your tundra into plains... and your coastal land tiles into coastal water tiles!
