Any plans you want to share before we commit to battle?

OOC:Any plans like the last turn?Beforeth I sent my orders.

We are in no position to commit a larger force to the western front. The losses we recieved last year were to large. We can not start a campaign on our own and only would be able to support one with our meager forces.

To: Delanor

Our fears grow for an invasion by the Eastern Wu'di. Currently they don't have to care about the nations of Cairo and Co. Additionally the current developements in the east are most worrying and we need a good defensive position against them.
Therefore I suggest to commit large forces to this front.

ooc: Shouldn't i have one UU left? I built two and only lost one at the eastern front.

*secret*

You lost both. I think I wrote them both up on the update. Anyway, in both cases, they charged ahead through enemy ranks, incinerating many, and crashed on top of the Wu'dian Adepts.

As you may or may not notice, the Western Empire is cut in half. This leaves Semnon in Versov (ex. Lochia) and Barragh back in Turin. The two are largely independent of eachother, and are both skilled at warfare and are expected to lead any forces personally in battle. They also have intimate knowledge of the lay of the land, and army tactics. On the whole, expect bitter fights if you try to destroy them completely, for they are still Princes, and very very proud.

The Triad in the Eastern Empire are sneaky. If you go head on against them, be sure you have a backup plan. Often they will use spies and agents to reveal weaknesses in their foes, and exploit them to the limit. Be prepared for nasty surprises and deadly traps. They will more likely kill you with deception, rather than open warfare.

DIPLO

From: Rollux
To: Ramon

We will again call you to fulfill our agreement and help us in our war against the lunatic Galadinia. We propose that you cease hostilities with one of the Empires to relieve one of your fronts.

We are informed that many of your fellow rebels are co-operating with you in the west, and are confident that their campaign will succeed without your participation. Our own war, however, does not go well, and we insist that you give honor to our pact and help us survive the Galadinian invasion.

wars of agression were not expected from you.

The wind ruffled Shezmon's hair as the great dragon descended upon the battlefield with a roar. The Dragon Disciple and the Red Dragon he rode both blasted the enemies with jets of fiery breath, although Shezmon felt very, very futile compared to the hellish scorch of the reptilian wyrm's breath.
It is an honour to be chosen for this task, Nur'mek'zaasha. I could find no more valiant way of proclaiming our unity. Shezmon thought the phrase, but he knew the ancient creature would easily understand it's rider.
I find this enjoyable as well, dragonkin. 'Tseems to us that you understand well the mind of the reptilian. The enemy infantry screamed as the dragon landed amidst them, clawing furiously at their ranks. Shezmon flung his arms wide, darts of fire shooting forth from his palms to incinerate whomever they touched. Indeed, this Empire has forced us to hide for long enough. It is better for a red wyrm to die free than live confined. An enemy Adept locked his gaze with Shezmon, who could feel the Imperial mage use his own magic to nullify Shezmon's. The Dragon Disciple smiled sweetly, waved cheerfully, and spat forth a cone of flame that hideously charred the Adept. Instantly, Shezmon felt his powers return, and created a pentagram of flames nearby. As they prolifirated into the shape of a humanoid torso, arms and head, Shezmon snapped his hands and released forth another spray of firebrand. The lesser fire elemental scurried off, battling enemies at the dragon's and it's rider's flank.

Good story, Azash. About the dragons? Sure, let's say the Empire actively hunted them. They are, after all, quite dangerous. I liked your description of your RDD's ability to breathe (nonmagical) fire, and it's effects. But you can't have elementals. :p Why are people all fixed up about elementals, anyway? Is it some sort of stereotypical thing, or are they just popular for what they are?

Anyway, elementals do indeed exist, but you have to make a project for it. Ramon's Knights of the Flame are indeed very powerful, although they came one per eco.

Another note about magic and dispelling. I operate with the rules that better training allows for dispelling. I've been using it for the entire NES, and no one has tried to do that before (that I remember, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything :p), so now you know, and I don't get any complaints. I hope. (><)

The horse' hoofs were stamping in the snow. Misty air came out of its nostrils. "Easy Springer" a deep calm voice said, as a gauntled clad hand pattet Springers neck. It did not reveal the anxiousness of the rider. They had been out here several days now. Even though the landscape was the same as home, rolling hills, now covered in snow, and small forrests. Being behind enemy lines made it all different. Each bush, stone or tree could hide a potential enemy. There had been casualties of course. Out of the 50 men that left the Gardens of the Moon late last fall, only 42 remains.

"Randal" the rider shouted "assemble the men! We ride in half an hour."

"Yes, Captain!"

Half an hour later they rode out of the gulley in which they had been resting. Sargent Randal rode first, giving orders to the scouting parties. This was all routine now. Since they left Shaba behind one week ago, the scouting parties had been riding ahead. As the sun was setteling, a rider came charging towards the colomn. He was slanting in his saddle barly able to cling on, and with an arrow protruding from his chest.

"Captain, Captain!" he managed to say. "Ambush..." the last came out as a croak. He slid out of his saddle and died. As he hit the ground, the arrows had started to fall. They had entered a small valley, and now they were surrounded by Wu'dian archers.

"Fall back" the captain shouted "Retreat." He spurred Springers flanks, pressing him into a gallop. As he charged through the enemy ranks, he noticed that only half a dozen of his men were following him, the rest was dead or dying. He had to report this disaster. Out of bowshot and of sight, he set the course for Shaba and the Gardens of the Moon

In order not to cause confusion about the Council of the Nine Druids, here is a complete list of everyone of them.

Archwizard Erisen

War Minister Gauvard

Domestic & Faith Minister Ged

Magic Minister Sulimann

Commercial & Naval Minister Rihos

Foreign Minister Ventre

Gatekeeper of the Magic Academies of Cha'dra Sokuram

Honorary Masterdruid (*1) Thorion

Grandwitch of Bellfern (*2) Tessai

*1 Personal advisor to the Archwizard

*2 Representative of the populance of Bellfern

In the greenhouse-salong of the Nature Academy of Cha'dra inside the Violet Citadel, Madam Sulimann is going over the recent events of the world with the Council members remaining in Cha'dra. All others are present with the exception of Erisen, Thorion, Tessai, Gauvard and Ged.

"I want news, and they better be good." - Sulimann said as she looked to the others

"The number of new students to our Academy with the spark is in a standstill, although the numbers are down only by a little from the last few years. We believe this will change for the better, if the operation in Turin succeeds."
- Sokuram announced with a lavish smile on his face

"Good, i'm confident that our troo-...." - The loud sound of the belltowers (*3) of the Academy interrupted Sulimann

A man dressed in a white robe stepped into the salong "The Grandwitch of Bellfern has arrived" The man said, bowed, and left

"Hmph. Late as usual it seems" - Rihos said in disgust

"She may have popular support, but she still has her obligations to the Council." - Sulimann said making a dispellign spell with her hand into the air.

Just outside the Academy stairs Tessai, being carried in a carriage by two bears, noticed that the bears had runned off on their own

"That Sulimann. Using magic to force me to climb those stairs" - Tessai frowned, stepped out of the carriage and started walking up the stairs

After a suprisingly long climb (You see, she isn't in too good shape ;) ) up, she was totally exhausted. Having lost nearly all the proudness as she walked towards the Greenhouse-salong, stopping to take a quick breath at times.

Eventually she managed to get to the salong, and collapsed into the chair reserved for he in a circle, where the four other Council members were already waiting

The discussion whent on until Thorion, came aswell, and sitted down.

"How is the Archwizard doing?" - Sulimann finally asked

"He is doing a bit better, but i fear that this is only temporary" - Thorion replied

"Now that most of us are here, we can discuss the real matter that i called you here for. It is the matter of Erisen's successor and the upcoming Turin operation." - Sulimann announced

*3 That's how the nation of Bellfern was named.
