some ideas for force related techs:

- Force Powers (gives [sith/jedi] masters)
- Lightsaber Combat (gives [sith/jedi] knights)
- The force (gives padawans/sith apprentices)

As there are not may other characters availalbe for jedi/sith civs, no more techs would really be needed. Jedi starfighter would go into hyperspace, or something like that, and sith speeder could go into repulsorlifts.

Hope this helps.

how about

* force awareness (pre tech for force training)
* force training (padawans and sith aprentices)
* force mastry (jedi/sith knights)
* force influence (jedi/sith masters)

i have an idea:

make military great leaders some council member (for the Republic), but you can't tell who, and give it high attack and defense, so it can defend itself.

Sorry for not posting anything recently; been busy;)

Personally I think after all the mods are done, all the techs, units, etc could be put together for one big Civ-style game.

Of course, you'll always run the chance of ending up with Old v. New Republics but hey, it would be fun;)

I somewhat assumed that would be happening. Right now I'm trying to put together planet lists for Star Wars Civs(counting the ones already made), plus I'm trying to come up with ideas for a few, smaller scenarios, and here's what I've got so far:

Civs
1. Old Republic
2. New Republic
3. Galactic Empire
4. Sith Empire
5. Jedi Order
6. Naboo
7. Trade Federation
8. Confederacy of Independent Systems
9. Alliance to Restore the Republic
10. Galactic Federation of Free Alliances
11. Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium
12. Duskhan League
13. Chiss Ascendancy
14. Imperial Remnant
15. Yuuzhan Vong
16. Corporate Sector Authority
17. Hutt Syndicate
18. Tion Hegemony
19. Hapan Consortium
20. Corellia
21. Smuggler's Alliance
22. Bounty Hunters Guild
23. Bothans
24. Mon Calamari
25. Empire of the Hand*
26. Second Imperium*
27. Wookiees*
28. Gungans

And I'm trying to find something other than the Peace Brigade, Ewoks(I've always hated them), and the Vagaari to use for the last two.

* means I'm still working on planet lists for them (yes, I do have to BS some)

Scenario Ideas
This doesn't include the Clone Wars, Galactic Civil War, or the war with the Yuuzhan Vong per se

1. Yevethan Crisis (NR, Duskhan League)
2. Sith War(OR, JO, Sith)
3. Thrawn Crisis(GE, NR)
4. Hunt for Warlord Zsinj (GE, NR)
5. Campaign against the Ssi-Ruuvi (SRI, NR, CA)
6. Final Battle for Coruscant (YV, GFFA, IR)

Erm I can't think of any more lol

I'm also compiling what ships will likely be made for them all:-D

yeah, 3/4 of it's navy was blown up by center point station half a galaxy away.

If you read Dark Journey, the new Queen Mother Tenel Ka uses the rebuilt Hapan fleet to repulse the Vong after Jaina stole the Ksstar;)

Sure it's not at large as it once was, but the Hapans can make up for that with the turbolaser technology the Republic gave them, and the Hapans were part of major engagements afterwards, namely the defeat of a Vong fleet group in the beginning of Destiny's Way, perhaps the Battle of Ebaq 9 (I can't remember) and the final Battle of Coruscant;)

Bluemofia, the Hapan Consortium is the Cluster:-x

@ jobiwan7:

If you wanted the two civs seperate you would have to have them in different scenarios (perhaps pre-fall-of-Empire and post-fall-of-Empire which would make things easier and allow for some new possibilities) because if they were in the same scenario they might decide to declare war on each other! Or you could have them in a locked-alliance but that is still pretty stupid since they both shouldn't be around at the same time.

If you combine them you have the problem that before the Empire fell it wouldn't make any sense if the civ was called New Republic (a bit ambitious of them to call themselves that!) and after the fall of the Empire it really really wouldn't make sense for them to call themselves 'Rebel Alliance'!

Another problem with combining them is that then you would have to have all the civs from pre and post fall of Empire in one scenario. Not as fun to play, long load times, and IMHO, logistically impossible to complete.

They have to be seperate and in different scenarios.

If it's for the main mod on a randomly generated map you could choose the civs you played against.

Is it at all possible so that some wonder on Coruscant can give the Alliance the chance to be the new Republic? And also when it is lost, the government thing is also lost? Eg when the Empire loses Coruscant, it becomes the Imperial Remnant, when the Rebellion wins coruscant, it becomes the New Republic, when the vong take coruscant, the New Republic are reduced back to the Alliance

Just a thought...

There was a thread somewhere that talked about the possibility of having a civ change it's name during the game. It would be a very very useful tool for scenario makers if civ or it's editor allowed this but they don't. I pretty sure it was determined that it was not possible. The game as it is would get very confused if the name changed during the game because of the way the mod files work. Civ's code just doesn't support it, it wouldn't understand that the new name was the same civ as the old name. To make it work the game would need a major rework.

Just so people don't think otherwise, this mod is not dead by a long shot. Work is still going towards the project, but my own work has been little as I have my GCSEs in May/June. After my GCSEs (and a lot of heavy drinking), I shall be returning to working on the project in depth.

So far, unit creation seems to be going slower than brain storming ideas. Not a bad idea, but these ideas need to be put into practise. Other than that, everything is going ahead smoothly.

@ DonStamos

Why not have Warlord Zsinj as one of your Civs, or just have Imperial Warlords in general?

And while there are enougth differences between the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic, to make them distinct civs, arnt the New Republic and the Gallactic Alliance efectivly one and the same, just one has slightly more advanced versions of the others units?
