The Tech tree I posted was just a base, glad you made some suggestions Rabbit Alex, there is a few that i wanted to argue

Haha yeah great education in modding :lol:

I'm a Computer Science major (that means I'm a programmer), so it is somewhat relevant. I'd really like to learn how to do 3D modelling but MTU doesn't offer anything like that apart from engineering modelling, but that's not what I'm interested in.
 
Okay guys the reason for not releasing today:

I have finished the tech tree but I have to delete the old vanilla tech tree and the techs are connected to other xml files so i have to clear those up too so its taking longer than I expected.

The real 0.6 release date: Very Soon I don't know exactly
 
I can't wait to see the new tech tree. Did you add the new civs or the civilopedia texts I posted?

I am very interested in what your doing with this mod and was wondering if I could help in any way. I have modeling experience in 3dmax, level design experience in several level editors and of course... I am a big Star Wars Fan. Currently I am looking for a project to put my time into and love the look of yours. You seem to have a dedicated team here, well done. I've downloaded all the docs posted on the fourm and am reading through them.

Welcome to the team Dooku! It will be great to have a good modeller on board. I'm the graphics guy (done most of the leaderheads, buttons and the background "stars" image that we are using now).

Can you post an example of your work? I'd really like to see what you can do :goodjob:


Civmansam - here are a few more things I would like to do. Which ones (if any) have you started. I have time again to work on stuff.

1. Redo the title "Civilization IV" graphic to make it "Star Wars-ey"
2. Make more menu background images.
3. Make a unit list (doing that today) and buttons for them.
4. Make promotions list and graphics for them
5. Make religious, commerce/food/hammer icons, other icons

Can you post a screenshot of the new tech tree or something? We'd all like to see. :)

Well we have the same title as 0.54 which is pretty star wars-ey
Menu backround images... there is no real point because you can only have one.
Unit List, In planning stages right now, have some idea.
Promotions haven't started much
Haven't thought of religion icons

Unfortunetly I cannot take screenies on my comp

I'm really sorry for all those people (if any) were waiting for 0.6. But don't worry when it comes out it will be really good.:goodjob:
 
I'm thinking about putting The Lopez's Mercaneries Mod in The Star Wars Mod. Seems Like a good Idea?
 
I kinda want to make new background pics because I think I can make better ones. Also, the title looks a little "thrown together" I think. No offense but I just don't like it. I'd like to make something better.

And Lopez's Mercenaries Mod is awesome! It would be like hiring bounty hunters.

I just got an idea too. We can change the game clock to use the SW date system. According to the SW timeline, the Rakatan Infinite Empire was founded around 49,000 (Before the Battle of Yavin, where the first Death Star was destroyed). I'm going to look at modifying one of the other clock mods to see how it works.

I've mainly done level design for Doom III but have worked on several projects in Max. I’m a bit rusty now sure but it'll all come back to me soon enough. I'm gona start off anyway by trying to work on a model of my avatar, seems as good a place as any. Also, how different are the Civ's going to be? For example, are the C.I.S. going to be able to build clone troopers and commandos and can the Galactic Republic build battle droids and Droidika?

Just something to add...I do professional voice overs if you ever needed a voice for your game...been playing this mod and it's fun, nice job.

Haha no you didn't sound like a goof. I recongized your sig from Star Wars.
 
just a thought but has anyone else thought about the other force users in the game? they could be units possibly, such as the dathomirrian witches, or the aiin tii (sp?) monks. the monks had different abilities from the jedi/sith. for instance they could teleport with the force, their ships had no conventional drive. they also showed that anyone can be trained to tap into the force as a result of this.

just thought i'd throw out another idea about some of the other points of view of star wars.
