The victory star destroyer had blue lasers... i'd probably do the same kind of thing as that.

By the way, where are the guns on a venator?
 
There are 8 main guns...4 on each side of the super structure, and then 2 on each side at the first niche in the triangle hull-line thing (anyone else have a better description then that???)

Again, blue lasers are not an option. The trade off is that the lasers might or might not be cooler, but the death animation will stink.

Which is possible, since the lasers and the death won't be in the same animation. I am relucent to do this though. I guess I can think about it... because I will then have to re-texure the models completely just for the death animation. Seems quite the PITA.
 
On the Venator's attack, would it be possible to make it a broadside attack like the stock CivIII's battleship? I think that would make it more movie-authentic to have a broadside attack...just my 2 cents.
 
Gah. I realllllllly hope someone can get this Venator in game. I can't tell you how excited I am for it. Or the mod, for that instance.
 
Good, because i wont get Civ3 vanilla back until then to reinstall C3C back on my computer.
 
if it does somehow get done before christmas, then I am going to work over Christmas vacation at making a Vanilla version of the Mod, doing it solo!! It is not fair to people who don't have conquests.
 
please, please, please can we forget about the vong....

they are a cool race, very good, but we have only descriptions to know what the units look like, no proper sources to extract them from.

Vong scenario involve a pre-prepared galactic map, as the vong do not create their own cities but steal those of the republic. if you want to do this, then go ahead.

we will work on he vong AFTER the main mod. if ever. so forget about it for now. please!
 
BIG NEWS!

The same source for the Venator model has just released two new models...a Trade Federation Battleship and the Invisible Hand!

I think these are two more ships that simply MUST go into the game...unfortunately, I can't put units in game :-( If anyone's interested in these as well, I can convert them and send them to you if you want. Just post here or PM me, either way works.

[edit] He's also working on other models for a Battle over Coruscant mission for XWA, so a whole plethora of Republic and Separatist units may be at our grasp...I know for sure of a Banking Clan Communications Frigate, the ARC-170, a V-Wing, and a Tri-Droid Fighter very near to completion. Just some food for thought...
 
@Black Hand- You might want to send that V-wing model to Varlin Saliptor. He's trying to make one.
@everyone else- I had the day off today because I'm sick, so I modified the latest unit tree. I changed it up a little (Added color texts to represent reuse of the same graphix, Balanced it a little more, added in alien units, fixed spelling errors, (:p)) just made it a little better. Let's argue about it until it's good, because once we have a final unit list, we can create the tech tree and rule out the units in the request thread we can live without, and therefore go on the fast track to finishing the mod. So without further ado, here the latest unit tree is:

@ odintheking did u upload it right? it says 'file not found'

EDIT: i agree with sheepmonster- i think the vong, with all the added extra work that would need to be put in to them, should be saved for some sort of 'expansion pack' or something for the Star Wars mod- i just dont think we have time to focus on the vong when our timetable for completing the mod is growing shorter.

but i still think the vong should be included in the mod- just later, not now.
