For Niall, all he'd need is a new backround and recolour (he should be much older), and maybe a cloak or such (needs to lose the laurels).

Hugh O'Neill (c.1565 – 20 July 1616) for the Ren leader, Brennus would be a good starting point as they share the same hairstyle. And yes, he is descended from Niall Noigiallach.

I am DLing the mod as we speak, but from the preview you guys put up of the leaders there is a much better Haile Selassie (sp?) out there, I'll try and find it real quick but its the one used in the Thomas' War scenario if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

I'll let you know my thoughts though, it sounds like everyone likes it so far.
 
How about you use the Vercangetorix LH for Niall instead? Its right HERE, if you want you can change the hair color or skin to make him look older too. The cape you can change to green if you want but I think they were using blue and gold at that time so it fits pretty well.

Just an idea.

Newer Selassie is being added. I'll see what I can do about Niall.
 
Just a quick update. The plan was to have everything out by the end of August, but life is life and with two kids at home, time to do things like modding is just not there like it was before.

But things *are* moving and we're not that far away from release (a couple of weeks, I reckon).

A few people have asked about the new civs, or whether we'd add suggestions. Here are the planned additions to 5.0:

Benin (West Africa)
Garamentes (North Africa)
Lebanon (Middle East)
Malaysia (Southeast Asia)
Nazca (South America)
Palmyra (Central Asia)
Parthia (Central Asia)
Philippines (Southeast Asia)
Timurid (Subcontinent)
Xiongnu (Far East)

In addition, the Nature of Man expansion, adding Hitler, Pol Pot, etc., will include two additional civs - the Kitara Empire (fronted by Idi Amin) and the Hunnic Empire with Attila.

That isn't to say that other suggestions (i.e. Vandals) are out of the question, but we need to complete what we've started first.
 
What are you going to do about the Native American civs (Iroquois, Apache, Navajo, Sioux, Inuit, etc.) ?

I haven't forgotten about it, but I've only been toying with some ideas. You're familiar with the situation - if you could come up with a plan or some suggestions, it'd be appreciated.
 
Sounds smaller but comprehensive! I'll start archiving music files, even though you don't need them, for when they will be needed!
 
If it's possible to add colonization's leaderheads, San Martin should be added to Argentina.
I noticed a little typo error, the unique unit for Bolivarian is "Libertador" :)

As for the Native American issues:

I think the "Dinnehih" Empire should be split into the Apache Empire (with Mangas Coloradas and Geronimo as leaders) and the Navajo Empire (with Narbona as a leader.)

I think we'd have to find an UU and a UB for Apache, though.

I'd also reccommend looking for someone to lead the Inuit civ... Marten Jumping isn't Inuit enough.

Also add Logan to the Iroquois civ and change Ayenwatha's name to "Hiawatha"... there's a pretty good-looking (but controversially pudgy) Hiawatha LH. It still work better than a Huayna reskin.

Get rid of Deganawida, and instead use the LH for Ostenaco (Ekmek has an improved version). Add him along with Oconostota to a new Cherokee civ. We could probably put Osceola into a Seminole Civ.

I think we should make a Cheyenne Civ, as we already have the Dog Soldier. Have either Little Wolf or Morning Star as a leader. Likewise, we should assign the Totem Poles to the Haida Civ.

With Agueybana out there, somebody should make a Taino Empire. The UB could be the Batey. I need to find a good UU. (I should know this. I'm Puerto Rican.) Not exactly Native Americans, but still...

Colonization sure is great help.
 
Adding to this, pre-Columbian South America seems a bit underrepresented. Besides the Inca - and preceding these - were the Chibcha (Central Colombia), Chimu (Ecuador) and the Nazca (Peru). Especially the Chimu would be a nice addition, as they created the largest pre-Incan Andes empire.
 
What about the Mapuche? You can have Colo-Colo as a leader.
