We see no reason why the independence of the United States of America should not be recognized. While initially, they were in rebellion against a legitimate monarch, Great Britain has failed to offer the American people any alternative beyond absolute submission.

In the interests of peace, we call for a cease fire between Britain and the United States, and negotiations, perhaps through Dutch mediation. And we recognize the legitimacy of the American government.

It is the position of the British Parliament to recognize the United States.

The King may grudgingly accept, depending on the terms, but there is a power struggle currently ongoing in Great Britain.

It is the mediator's (Bavaria, the Dutch, etc.) decision on whom they wish to support and which side they wish to send a representative to any peace negotiation.

OOC: Why isn't there a number next to how many EPs invested in my project? <_<

We thank you for your recognition. And welcome mediation by you and the Dutch.

With regard to terms perhaps you would relay the following terms to the British Parliament they seem to be more reasonable. But relay the terms to the King as well and please tell us his reaction:

-The recognition of the the United State's independence and the legitimacy of the US government by Britian

-The withdrawal of all British troops from North America, including Georgia, Baltimore, New France, Hudson Bay, and Newfoundland. And the recognition of these areas as United States sovereign territory.

-The removal of the British naval blockade.

-The ceding of Bermuda to the United States

-Restitution for the economic damage done to the United States caused by the blockade, invasion, and looting amounting to the sum of 6 million pounds (6 eco)

OT: If I may comment, can I just ask why ceded territory would include Canada? Canada at this time doesn't really seem as hostile to the British as the US, so wouldn't taking Canada possible stir up some trouble with the Canadians? Wouldn't it be better just to take the actual boundaries of Canada and the US?

Just my opinon though, no need to take hede... Also, I don't think the US is in any position to demand reparations unless they would keep Canada... Britian is defeated only overseas and is completly safe from its islands home, they have suffered utter destruction... and if denying reparation payments happened, the Blockade would continue to hurt the US... I'm just thinking you shouldn't overstep the success you got.

But like I said take no hede. but Hungary is always happy to offer help in mediation :)

The fine art of negotiation.

OOC: I suppose so however trying to strangle Bermuda from the British is somewhat stupid... There is no way the US could battle its way to Bermuda through the British Navy. Admittadly that is stretching it a bit. Also, the British may acknowledge defeat, doesn't mean their willing to surrender everthing theyve accumulated. the US is no direct to its homeland. Perhaps they may surrender mainland Canada, even the smaller coastal islands and the ones in the bay but that larger island near Greenland may be a good place for the British to restart a British Canada and giving up that location which the US coulsn't reach anytime soon would be foolhardy.

IC: Hungary is willing to step into mediate in the defence of the British Empire. Hungary will recognize US Independance but we're not happy to see this youthful nation overstepping its success and grabbing for whats out of reach.

Im taking Great Britain probably and now im going to bed i'll get back to you after work

lurker's comment: Is this thread the amateur hour for international relations talks? If you want to try to lecture somebody on something you perceive to be bad foreign policy use a PM or IM or IRC please, because that kind of clutter already littered the thread back when NWAG's Sweden was doing its own weird stuff.

The Industrialization of Bologna

Bologna had long been a proud and important city of the Papal States, ever since it beseeched the Pope for his protection some 500 years ago. It is indeed to wonder that so much money will be spent of Industrializing Bologna, for it is the home city of the present Pope Benedict XIV and the third largest city in all Italy. From the great and ancient university to the vast market commons, it was truly Italy’s second city.

The massive wheat and cattle industry in Bologna was booming yet again, and anyone looking out their apartment window could tell things are changing. Luigi Galvini, the famous scientist noted the very smell of excited electricity in the world. They had been forced to hire dozens of new poop shovel men just to account for the massive influx of agriculture to the city.

Indeed, Bologna was becoming the dominant economic force in central Italy. The Cardinal, Louis Calderon Filipe San Amos Jatandemiso, noted that perhaps a partnership with Modena could be highly profitable to both the city and the states in general, to bring extra workers and land to both cities…
