it is very regretable that you would persue a violent path.
we had hoped that you would curb your violent heritage, but it would appear you have not trancended your genes.

let me assure you that the Republic shall stand fast beside ALL downtrodden factions, rendering any help we can to them.

do not incur the wrath of Jah.
you would not like that.

Voices of the Victorious, Voices of the Vanquished

We're picking up something sir.

What is it?

Signal here, signal here... pattern... Sir, Vakkra incursion!

Vakkra incursion! All heads to battle stations!

Should we contact the rest of the fleet?

Yes.

Admiral Terenas tapped his commlink.

Attention Gold, Bronze, Silver Fleets and Swarm Force. Vakkra Incursion! Full combat readiness.

All over the space around Byblos, weapons started glowing red. Thrusters glowed. Fighters and Stardancers whizzed out of the carriers of Swarm Force. Terenas' flagship, the Lyam (after a famous early Havenite) assumed a central position.

Admiral Terenas looked at the system scan again. Nothing from the jumpgate...

3 more dots materialized, away from the jumpgate. Terenas grabbed the commlink.

Attention all ships, the Vakkra are not, repeat NOT using the jumpgates. Prepare for combat.

The Vakkra carriers in the distance began to glow. Hundreds of little dots poured out.

Enemy fighters off!

The Vakkra destroyer fired an opening salvo. The cruisers dodged out of the way.

Send it right back at 'em! Engage experiment Beta!

Several carriers fired translucent silvery blobs at the Vakkra fleet. The blobs disintegrated on contact.

Result negative sir. No apparent effect.

Damn. Engage in combat, standard procedures.

Yes sir.

Terenas gazed out as hundreds of Havenite fighters whizzed out towards the Vakkra fleet. The carriers assumed their shifting, difficult to hit stance and began firing at the Vakkra...

*****

Toja spun her fighter, dodging a deadly round of Vakkra fire. The fighter spun a 180, and fired backwards at the Vakkra fighter, it took a glancing hit, then spun out of sight behind one of the Vakkra cruisers. She spun the ship back forwards, and dodged beneath a Vakkra destroyer, strafing its botton end. Turrets on the massive ship targeted and fired, but Toja managed to dodge.

Rising up around the back end of the ship, she surveyed the battle. The Vakkra had not lost one of their majour ships, but the molten remains of several Havenite cruisers were visible.

Toja maximized her ships speed and spun back towards the battle. A swarm of Vakkra fighters changed their course, heading straight for her. But a seperate wing of Havenite fighters caught them from the side. Several exploded, and they changed course. Toja opened fire on one, and it disintegrated, its remains crashing into another ship.

She then looked at the Havenite carriers. They were firing another one of their experiments. She dodged clear of one passing shot, then spun around and followed in their direction. One hit a Vakkra cruiser, and was absorbed. Toja blasted beneath it, and strafed the ships side. A turret focused on her, and something fired. Something identical to what it had just absorbed.

Her eyes widened-

*****

Sir, experiment alpha results negative as well. The Vakkra can recycle the scourge, and have already infected several ships.

Scuttle them! We cannot afford an outbreak.

2 Havenite cruisers with telltale Scourge scarring detonated.

Sir! Reinforcements! The new fleets from Haven are here!

Excellent. Order them to engage the Vakkra at once.

The Lyam dodged a poorly fired Vakkra shot. Terenas looked up to the viewscreen to see one of the Vakkra destroyers start to break up. A cheer came from the crew.

SIR! EVASIVE-

A massive shock rocked the ship. Damage alarms screeched.

All crew to the escape pods!

Terenas watched his crew get into some. Satisfied that everyone was evacuated, he leapt into one and launched.

The extreme g-forces quickly subsided, and Terenas looked down to see his flagship, spewing white hot gases, explode.

*****

This is Admiral Mannara! I've got reinforcements, and am taking over for Terenas!

Hive Force, Copper Mercury and Titanium fleets opened fire on the Vakkra.

Fire Experiment Alpha!

*****

Terenas listened to the soundlink with horror, and cursing, searched desperately for some way to contact Mannara.

*****

Sir, the scourge has been absorbed.

Damn. Wait, what are they doing.

Oh crap.

*****

Several Havenite cruisers were infected instantly, many more exploded.

A voice came over the intercom.

Reinforcement fleets, DO NOT fire the Scourge at the Vakkra!

Thanks for the advice! I was about to fire at them again!

Don't use sarcasm with me!

The link disconnected.

Admiral Mannara, the Vakkra fighters are taking heavy losses now.

Finish them. Focus all fire on the remaining Vakkra capital ships.

Yes sir.

The Havenite fleet advanced, firing deadly barrages down at the Vakkra ships. Both Vakkra cruisers were hit by so many bolts simultaneously that their explosions were impossible to see.

Focus all fire on the listing destroyer!

One of the Vakkra destroyers had begun to lean down towards Byblos. White vapours spouted from it in several places. As the firepower of the entire Havenite fleet fell upon it, the destroyer attempted to shimmer out. But it wasn't fast enough. In a blast of white light, it broke, both halves exploding in quick succession.

Sir, Vakkra fading out... they're gone.

A long silence followed. Then, all over the Havenite ships, cheering and celebration broke out.

Mannara Grinned.

All groups, tally losses and commence escape pod pick up.

I assume that your last message was directed at us. Next time kindly address us by our proper name.
Regardless, we hear that you have accused us of pursuing a violent path. We laugh, given that we attempted peace once already and it cost us dearly. You would speak of violence? Come then and view the surface of Oncol, where thousands die daily.

There is no hope of transcending one's genes. You speak as a fool, and a greater fool to threaten us with the wrath of Jah. He has never intervened before, nor will he do so now.

Go now, madman.

If you would put down your weapons i wouldn't see any reason to destroy you. But since you have chosen this way, there is not really a another way. Oh and btw, you rebels and people of trinitev are 2 completely different things. Don't even imagine you could represent them.

OOC: Kentharu, this will end up just like in ITNES where you rebelled in Sicily. You'll be wiped out in one turn and you cause nothing but annoyance.

:( that was mean andis  really mean!

how are the rebels different from the people of Trinitev? they are the people rebelling i thought that was a given

the difference between then and now was in Sicilly there wasn't any rebelions or any chance of rebelion.... now well duh it is in disorder and i lay down my weapons what are you gonna do? kill me faster... yea exactly :D i win :D

Oh That Fleet!

“That was just to strange” Drona said as he pulled his ship back on course slowly, hopping the left engine wouldn’t burn out again. “Back to the space station”

The ships engines hummed and let out a screech suddenly as Drona increased the power to fast. Quickly he lowered it down to a snails pace and slowly chugged along. He checked his instruments, a fuel cell leak had started, that must have been what caused that horrid screech.

“Damn it, just my luck, first the Imperial Fleet and now this” He grumbled as he brought his ship to a full stop. [Engine leak detected] The fuzzy voice of the ships computer said as Drona got up. “Now it tells me, computer shut down all engines and isolate leak”

Drona waited patiently as the computer went through a series of beeps and hums. [All engines shut down, engine leak isolated] “Computer, what is the cause or origin of this leak”

Again the computer hummed and beeped, this time letting out what sounded like a whimper. This was typical, since he last run in with a stray asteroid. His luck with asteroids was never good seeing as the always seemed to have it out for him and his hunk of junk. [Origin of leak unknown, Cause of leak, the left cell was ruptured] “Computer, when did the leak first occur” After a number of beeps and whimpers the computer seemed to choke on it’s own response “Computer, please repeat last statement” [Leak occurred at 06:23] That time sounded familiar. “Computer, when did Imperial Fleet 1309 disengage the ship” [At 06:23] That was it, the Imperial fighter must have done something to his fuel cells to cause the leak. Must be so he could come back and take care of him later.

“Damn it” Drona’s eyes widened as the thought sunk in. He was going to die, out here in nothingness. He couldn’t do anything to stop it. He was completely powerless, this stupid hunk of crap had no weapons, except for a small pistol inside the ship. Inside the ship! What bloody use was that? Drona returned to his seat and starred out of the cockpit window. A small beeping noise began to form in the back of his mind. What the hell is that now, another asteroid? He looked at his radar screen lazily and saw 4 zigzagging bleeps. One bleep was a little ahead of the other three and seemed to be swerving about madly. That’s not an asteroid, that’s the damn Imperial Fleet again! Drona cursed under his breath and switched on retro burners, turning his ship to face the bleeps, which slowly began to take shape through his cockpit window. It was the Imperial Fleet, but the Fleet, or rather just the one fighter, was the one running away. It was being closely followed by a three sleek silver fighters, almost exactly like the one the Imperial fighters had been trying to get. In fact, they were exactly like the silver fighter.

The fighters grew larger and larger as they got closer. Upon closer inspection, Drona could see that the Imperial fighter was letting off sparks every now and then as it now zoomed by him. Almost hitting Drona’s ship. “Blood Imperial fighters”

[Warning, Warning radar lock detected] The fuzzy voice of the computer managed to pump out as the three silver fighters broke off from the Imperial fighter’s tail and began to close in around him.

~Identify yourself and your purpose here~ Said a strange voice over the intercom. What was strange about it was not only could Drona hear it, but the voice was also in his head. Am I going mad?

“I… I am Drona Mahar, just a transporter of raw materials to the space station” Drona replied shakily as he stared at the silver fighters.

~What raw materials do you transport?~ The voice said again

“Just things for fuel cells, construction, ammunition.”

~Is that so, well prepare for boarding Drona Mahar~ Drona’s eyes widened. Boarding? Were they going to kill him and take his cargo? My god this was the worst day ever, even worst than asteroids.

ooc just in case you didn't notice the ~ is their thought speak thingy... mind communication or whatever... just think of that echoing voice of inner thoughts

Regarding Trade Rules... definitives will be laid out with this update. I will adjust existing trade routes to match the new rules. This will also include tech trading, which will be formally limited to each Faction being able to gain ONLY two techs per turn, maximum, be it from self-research, or trade with another faction.

Regarding the Trinitev situation - most of the average citizens are rebelling your rule, Andis, and there have already been attacks upon Trinetev citizens who sympathize with the Jaenar Empire. And remember, the native Trinetev army disbanded when you asserted authority, which means they (and their military hardware) are still out there. So, Kentharu has pretty decent grounds to stage his rebellion.

It will be interesting to see if he pulls it off, or gets crushed mercilessly. Either way, it will be really fun to write about! :D

Arkle!
*runs to trade tech this turn*
Uh, if you're going to implement that, I want an add-on to the Sustained Research program that says "This allows an extra tech per turn", otherwise speeding up research is pretty much useless.

BTW, do techs that read "+whatever EP" in the description still provide that eco when bought instead of researched?

Well you pissed me of, what did you expect?

Ok maybe kentharu has little bit better starting position than he did in ITNES, but it really doesn't change the outcome of this conflict ;)

What actrocities? We don't even have military personel in Trinitev so that we could commit any actrocities. And don't worry, we won't shed blood for long, the Rebellion will be crushed swiftly.

OOC: understood. Does that mean You are going to attack me or what?

@Erik.. nice catch. ugh. And yes, I'll modify your project so it's not pointless.

As far as the techs that give you +EP, it only happens if you RESEARCH it. If you trade for the tech, you do not get the bonus.
