stErzNES - If first you don't succeed, try try again

Turn IV, 2750BC

War war war... Everywhere it's war.

In the British isles the Irish people have had enough. Years of having Scotland for neighborse right in their own island have brought them to aggresive measures for throwing he scots out. In an amazing naval movment the irish destory the Scot navy but it did not helped. The Scot army is now fully in Ireland with no way of returning back home.

The Irish also attack by land, moving deep into Scot lands. The Scotish armies make several brave tried to stop Irish advancing. None succeeds but many looses are done on both sides. Only one small holding is now left for the Scots...

This is not all, As Scotish armies are nowhere to be seen the Picts invade British Scotland. They easily crash the country and take most of it. Only several pockets of peasent resistance still exist... Scotland future does not seem bright, it is not seen at all...
-300 Irish Spearmen, -200 Irish Archers, -50 Irish Horsemen, -5 Irish Galleys, -300 Scot Spearmen, -100 Scot Archers, -Scot navy, +1000 Scot Peasents, -100 Pict Spearmen

Also on the British islands the war between Normandy and Brettonia continues just a bit more... Until news are heard that Normandy is occupied by the Gauls. Quickly the Normans leave as the Brettonians cheer and make an holiday for their victory.

In Gaul the Normans land in a small northern town preapering to try and take their lands back. The future looks dim as the Gauls are stronger more than anything the Normans have ever saw.
-100 Brettonian Spearmen, -200 Norman Spearmen, -2 Norman Economies

War does not stop there... Far far to the south the lands of Iberian hear the cries of stone thrown into the air. The first stone throwers in the world are built by Sameh as they invade the nation of Tarttesos. Tarttesos navy runs to destory the Sameh one and in a battle near the Balerics he does give many looses to the Sameh naval forces that retreat to the last island on the chain...

On land Tarttesos does not fare so well. More trained and somwhat larger armies of Sameh break into the borders of Tarttesos and in a border clash they come out victors as the Tarttesian armies retreat far far back. Soon town after town falls to the might of Sameh as their armies take over much of eastern Tarttesos.
-200 Tarttesian Spearmen, -10 Tarttesian Galleys, +500 Tarttesian Peasents, -100 Sameh Spearmen, -100 Sameh Archers, -30 Sameh Galleys

And now we shall go to an untalled area. The Frozen, mostly, lands of Finland and the Baltic area. For years the great empire of Fennia rules this lands with a mighty culture settling and bringing many under their rule. After this could not do more they begun to use their armies to occupy new lands. This use of their army was mercyless and this bought them many enemies whitin the empire.

Fennia was not along. The small nation of Kaumolaiset was growing, expanding. The Fennians again used their army and begun blocking Kaumolaiset expansion routes. This was not liked in Kaumolaiset... They soon begun planning the fall of Fennia, and finaly their plans have shown up. Rebelles openned in rebellion across Fennia as their army move from one place to another every single day to try and stop this numerous rebellions... And if this was not enough Kaumolaiset invaded Fennia and is now in direct threat on their capital... How longer will Fennia survive?
-300 Fennian Spearmen, -200 Fennian Archers, -100 Kaumolaiset Spearmen

In Italia the Romans invade Etrusca. Better training prooved quite important as the army sizes was quite the same... Rome won the first few battles and is in Etrusca going deeper and deeper... In Northern Etrsuca Gaul armies are seen more and more.

As the Romans crash into central Etrusca they take one of the most important ports and take over 20 of the Etruscan ships!

But not all is well for Rome. The Samnites that live far in the mountains have allied with the weakling Etruscan to attack Rome and they easily march in Southern Rome and take over lands harrasing the peasents.
-200 Roman Spearmen, -100 Roman Archers, -400 Etruscan Spearmen, 20 Etruscan ships to Rome

In the Middle east the Hittie horde crashes the civilized world, most of it and is not in the doors of mighty Assyria. From the south in the area the Nabats also grow stronger invading Judea...
-300 Antioch Spearmen, -300 Armenian Spearmen, -1 Armenian Economy, -400 Judean Spearmen, -1 Antioch Economy

And now to the big war... That have just became much bigger with the joining of two(!) countries. Athense sell their Anatolian holdings and some islands in the Aegean to Minoa for them to join Athenian side. Minoa agree and join the battle landing in the Pelopones (near Sparta..) and in Thebes. What they did not expect was a Cyprut attack on their Anatolian holdings! Yes the Cyprus forces that stayed in their colony are attacked by Hittie forces but they also enter Minoan Anatolia taking a large town on the way with no real looses. Minoa is ferius.

Wierd stuff going on for Epirus. The train new troops but.. they don't train as much as they thought they can, and they find out about it AFTER their ships are sent to Athense... They were lucky that Minoa made a tiny attack on Thebes threatening their capital but it's not enough. Thebes easily crash the small Epiran garrison and swarm into the south of the kingdom.

In Athense better things come true. The Spartans, seeing the Epiran and Minoan troops joining Athense begin a slow retreat from the siege of Athense. They hope Thebes could finish quicker in the north... their suprised by the Minoan landings...
-300 Epiran Spearmen, -200 Epiran Archers, -300 Thebean Spearmen, -200 Athenian Spearmen, -100 Spartan Spearmen, -all Thebean navy, -10 Minoan galleys, -100 Cyprus Spearmen

All the rest of the world is quite peacfull....

The Bharut Tale: Bheema discovers Hati (elephants)

A bright day it was as Bheema walked out into the wilds of Bharut. A mace in hand and armor of the kings, embellished with jewels and gold, he was the picture of royalty. His walks were frequent to the wilds, but this particular spot he had never been to. It was dry dust ground that seemed to stretch for miles into the horizon, but trees dotted the landscape. Clouds hung lazily across the sky, almost as if a brush and painted them without much care. The sun hide behind them, but still peeped over, giving its glaring heat to the earth and baking it slowly, relentlessly.

“This day seems to perfect to be real” said Bheema, as he walked towards the East, his eyes on the sky. To no where he seemed to walk until he heard a trumpet blaring almost right by his ears. No fear caught him though, only surprise that a creature would dare challenge him. He pulled his mace forth and looked down at what could have screeched so loudly and before him stood a wall of thick hide. He laid his hand the hide and it moved, rippled as if it were alive, then it began to move. Bheema stumbled back in shock for the wall began to turn towards him.
He raised his mace immediately, ready to strike down this monster, but when he saw what it was he could not. The face of such a noble and harmless creature stared back at him, and Bheema smirked. Already he was beginning to think of its use in battle. With its size and massive tusks it would be able to plow through any enemy lines. On its back there could be archers raining down a hail of arrows onto the enemy as these creatures flung them about the battle flied.

“Sheva has blessed me this day with such a creature, it shall be called Hati and all our adversaries will tremble in fear before it” he smiled and returned home with news. Soon the Hati were being rounded up and trained like horses though it was less successful and the Hati scared easily. This did not matter because of their size anything that could possible scare them would be scared first or dead.
Bheema himself had trained them and came up with the idea of sharpening their tusks and encasing them in iron to make them even stronger and their heads lightly armored.

Ooc my UU!! Horay! The Hati (elephants) are extremely good at offensive attacks and breaking through enemy lines (cavalry, spearman) bonus vs cavalry because the horses scary. They have virtually no defensive use and if caught among many troops like in the middle of a battle they will riot and run away almost immediately. That’s to make up for the line breaking ability. Elite Hati carry an archer box on their backs (no fire archers) and they can break down gates so a ram isn’t necessary
Tell me if it isn’t balanced I think it is, they easy scare and no defense use makes up for most things right?

"I am the murmer of the surges;" His majesty had begun to grow used to hearing this voice that he was now sure was that of one of the gods, or mabey even of Amerghin himself. But what this new message meant, he did not know. He had already bolstered the navy, so that wasn't it, but what could it be? His majesty decided to put his thoughts aside for now as he had to prepare to leave for Newgrange to meet with the new Archdruid. Several days later, upon arrival at Newgrange, Cormac Mac Art met with the new Archdruid. They spent much time discussing religion before the high king remembered the third line of The Song of Amerghin "I am the murmer fo the surges;". He asked Conor Mac Arthur, for this was the Archdruid's name what this could mean. Conor responded, "Your majesty, I believe that what this voice means is quite clear. You are to bring into the army the trates of the murmer of the surges. You are to create a new class of soldiers who, like the surges, hide just bellow the surface, where none can see them, but with the pwer to take you out to sea and death. I believe that you are to create a class of warriors who refelct this line as well as all of The Song of Amerghin."
"I believe that you are right Conor. I believe that you are right."
********
New Unique Unit- Druids of Lugh. They are adept at ambushes, even if they are the attacker besieging a city. They also are vastly skilled in medecine and raise the moral of those that surround them since they are druidic priests. Being druids who follow Lugh, the god who is famous for being multi-talented, they are all good at using all weapons from spears to bow and arrows (druids are trained for 30-40 years in order to become druids, long enough to master several weapons). Their feirce faith means that they do not fear death, but it also means that they are highly superstitious and bad omens may weaken their fighting ability (this is to balance the other stuff out). In addition, their generally old age (35 being the youngest) means that they may not be able to maintain themselves as well as younger soldiers (once again to balance things out).

Yay! My away orders actually got done! For both updates! And the Hittites invaded someone other than me!

Orders will be done soon... I start school on Wednesday, but I can promise you I won't quit.

Also, is there any way to grow confidence other than by propaganda if stories don't give bonuses?

Orders sent!

I sent orders. It helps being a tiny island nation with no responsibilities outside of keeping an efficient navy. ;)
