stJNES5.1: From the Beginning

Das, I increased your spearmen two more times, as I think you forgot that you had an asterisk by your name (which gives you +2 spending points).

Ah. Didn't notice it, I guess. That said, didn't you say that it MIGHT or MIGHT NOT give you two spend points? Or was that in a different NES of yours? LOL, I forget.

Good update. And so the Magadhan people continue their trek towards Helvetica...

Jason, are the stats done? my economy is still 1/3 (i followed what you said and didn't grow anything else) and my wonder didn't increase... (Can i continue that atleast when i grow economy?)

my orders were:
-Grow economy by building ports in arabia and expanding in that area with 1500 spearman
-Continue advance toward Bactria with 1000 Archers, 1000 Spearman, and all horsemen. When/If they encounter resistance, have the archers fire off a volley first to dispurse/thin out the bactrian formation, then have the horsemen charge them followed by the spearman to clean them up.
-continue wonder
-other 1000 spearman will safeguard the nation

@Jason. Shoulnt my wonder be ready and shouldnt i get *for having conquered the Saxons? did my nation make contanct with other PC nations yet?
and if i build a trade route with an other nation do both nations get it?

@Jason I worked out I had more than enough men to build the roads to connect every city in Assyria, why did this not occur?

Alright then, despite the fact that many of you don't know me, or care that i'm returning to nes's i'm going to hope a few of you old timers can help get me back into the swing of things. as such if i could get help from you jason in determining which country is which on the map so i might choose one and finally get back into this whole thing.

good to see you back, puma! i hope once u get situated u will open up one of ur great nes's :).

Anyways, ask which country you want to know about. I can tell u the name should u want me too if u tell me the color/location.

Welcome back my friend.

PUUUMMAAA!!! Awesome to see ya back.

I would suggest any country that isnt the Hittites...

Or isn't anywhere in between Magadha and Helvetica.

In the other news: welcome back. Not sure if we ever talked, but I did lurk your previous NES.

Muscovite Empire

The Rurik Riders were camped separately from the Archers and the Spearmen that survived the recent battles with the Scythian barbarians, to distinguish that the Rurik Riders are indeed the elites. One of the leaders of the Rurik Riders, Mikhal - a boyar from Moscow itself - squatted around the campfire with his direct subordinates. They were talking about the Spearmen that perished in the inaugurating battle of the Scythian-Muscovite War.

"That was quite stupid of them," one of the Riders said. "I mean these Scythians have horses - it's common sense to not pierce the men!"

"Yeah, well, what do you expect?" Mikhail said. "Only us Rurik Riders got any real strategic schooling. The school system is crap, even for most of the boyars."

"Yeah, true, but hey, right now the priority is not fixing the education in Muscovy but securing Muscovy against these Scythian hordes," said another Rider.

"Eh, does not mean that the schools and libraries shouldn't be improved," Mikhail retorted, "I mean it's not like our Empire is poor. I've seen the construction of the Rurik Palace. It is breathtaking. And Moscow is expanding, too, as a city. Not to mention that the barter between Muscovite merchants is improving the economy because of the new roads, which are improving accessibility between the cities. We can afford it. But our Tsar is determined to crush these Scythians."

"That means only that we must do it fast and efficient," the Rider that started the conversation said, "or else the Army will, with our exception, suffer the same strategic and tactical stupidity as the dead Spearmen forever."

"Yeah, we gotta help the Archers and Spearmen coordinate and think of attack plans much better, or else the Scythians will penetrate into our Empire and kill us all and our children and wives," Mikhail said with a finality in his voice. The men nodded and went abck to eating their food. "In fact we shall start tonight, as soon as possible before the next battle."

Orders are in PM

sorry for double post.

It seems like most did not want the update tomorrow, cus I have barely any orders. therefore, unless there is a miracle and I get many more by tomorrow morning, then update will have to be pushed until next monday. don't blame me, blame your fellow players.

Oh, don't worry, its interesting, just that I was distracted to other concerns namely updating my NES.

To: Bactrians
From: Persians

You have fought against us for many years, and at times have almost destroyed us. You could have brought your raids one scale further and eliminate us in the past, but you didn't. Currently, Persia has the upper-hand in the conflict between us. You have resorted to burning your own villages and settlements, a sure sign of defeat. Persia do not wish to see the innocent peasants suffer as a result of our war. If you wish, Persia will have peace with you if you agree to be our vassal. That or give us 1 economy (so it makes me from 2/3 --> 0/4) and sign an NAP with us for 5 turns. Hopefully the period of peace can continue from there too. We await your reply.
