stJNES5: A New Begining

The streets of Ur were abuzz with gossip. Not a soul knew what would become of their nation but all had confidence in the greatness of Sumer. The tribal chiefs that for centuries had been the power of Sumer had dominated the King and his weak court. However with the death of the King and no viable heir to take the throne the charismatic second cousin of the King would ascend to the position. In the markets and bazaars of Sumer every citizen, from the richest of merchants to the lowliest of cobblers were all united in the hope that this would usher in a new era for Sumer. In the traditional sign of deference all tribal lords made the trip to Ur and paid homage to the new king. Normally Sumerian tradition dictated that a gift be given by each tribal lord to the new king as a sign of their unpresumptuous position in the Sumer government. Normally gifts were marginal; gold, a wife or daughter offered up for the new king, or even some lands given to the royal family. This time was very different however. The new king made history by refusing every gift offered to him. He shocked all of the tribal chiefs who came to him by demanding only one thing, that they be utterly loyal to Sumer, and consequently, him. Most surprisingly of all however, was their willingness to do exactly that. For the first time in Sumer’s history a single ruler had absolute control over all territories and would use that power to bring his nation to it’s place in the sun.

From Fennia
To Silesia:
There are Silesian armies in Fennia (according to the last update). We do not know if they are send by your government so we don't consider this to be a great violation against us, but we will destroy all armies that are in our lands without our permission. If you have send these soldiers, this is your chance to withdraw them. If not, then we hope you won't be too bugged about it if we drive them away by force.

***

FENNIA ORDERS:
-continue wonder
-grow education
-with 1000 men attack enemy armies of which you mentioned in the update if they don't withdraw peacefully

Jason: If erez cant keep up with order writing he should be made npc or be skipped whatever the concequences. He shouldnt make all wait because he is to lazy or whatever.

IceEye, when Erez gives orders for 3 or 4 other countries also and have a huge war to think of strateges for while having diffrent time zones than allies to talk with, that he is not lazy, he niether have school or just no ally is oline to discuss plans with.

You have no wars that your problem, try to fight such a big war with giving orders for also other armies without talking with them and fast...

The policy of Openness had spread throughout England and Wales. It was a huge deal. Now Wales had become a huge melting pot of peoples. But it wasnt having the problems typically assosiated with Immigration. Racism was not rampent and the people were still open to more immigration. But there was still a wish to unite with England, but it was apparently not to be for a while. But the people continued to grow closer.

Diplo:
To Sweden do you agree to sell North Scotland for 1 econ level and 1 naval unit as we discussed?

@erez, your making every nes wait for your orders! Speed it up a little!

Update 39, 300bce

--- International Events ---

Sinhalese vessels are able to make it to an island chain that is even more south then the Maldives. They are barely inhabited, and the people that do are impressed with Ceylon culture and for the most part are not against joining the empire. Contact is stretched, and so the islands must provide its own food, meaning less room for sugar plantations.

The Great Barracks of Breslau is complete in Silesia, beginning a new period of recuperation from the last war. New temples are built throughout the country, boasting of Amonic culture and religion. Many convert to Amonism, and are beginning to feel a loyalty to Iron Face, despite their loss.

Due to the cutting of slavery, Portuguese farmers in the north rise up in revolt. Highly dependent on free labor, the northerners demand that slavery be allowed at least in their lands. Containing nearly a third of the population, the north will not be satisfied with a military garrison. It is expected that many soldiers will desert their posts once they hear this. On the other hand, HIMinism spreads throughout Portugal, but really takes root in Africa.

The Chinese general, Ho Chi-Ni led a strong offensive against the remaining Yangtze defenders, who retreat to the capital. The Chinese have now encircled the capital, and are ready for a full assault come next turn. Meanwhile, having nearly no resistance, a 2,000-man army has marched all the way to the newly connected road, which ended at a Yellow River city. Gaining access to the road and in China Proper, the General Hi Chahow lead the army to the capital, dodging the cities that lay between to avoid casualties. Once at Beijing, they launched a huge attack that finally ended with the city falling – the greatest city in the entire world, pillaged. Hearing this and with the added effect that the Chinese army is off fighting a foreign war, many Chinese nobles rise up with their own armies against the Chinese rule, fracturing the north and east. It is expected that when the soldiers hear about this, most will desert their positions in the army and join their local warlord from where they came.
Casualties: 500 Chinese, 400 Yangtze, 200 Lhasa, 300 Lashio, 200 Tonkin

Mali fighters begin to fall back, deciding they would rather fight in the desert where they can use the population’s knowledge of oasis and wells, while the Tripolitian army is totally reliant on their supplies. Fighting still happen, three hundred Mali are killed while the Tripolitians suffer only small cavalry losses. Meanwhile, on another front, the Tripolitians easily defeat the small Roman garrison and infiltrate the Egyptian lands.
Casualties: 50 Tripolitians, 300 Mali

Uprisings again in Jerusalem are somehow connected to another nation – the insurgents are well armed and trained this time. The oppressing Romans are easily defeated, and the rebellion will soon set up a new government for Judea.

Sumerian armies march into Roman Syria, easily defeating the small Roman garrison that used to belong to the empire. The lands quickly fall, and the Sumerians meet with the Jewish leader of rebellion for talks.

Japanese armies easily smash the demoralized and tired remnants of the Songhoun army, and the capital falls to the victorious armies. Thus concluding the first war for Japan that did not involve a foreign power to aid them. Meanwhile, many cities begin to grow in Japan as more move to the mercantile business as rice farms support the populace from Korea.
Casualties: 400 Songhoans, 400 Japanese

A surprise attack again on Silesia! Austrian armies march unchallenged into the recovering nation, conquering many rich southern lands. However, the revitalized Silesian army is able to put a stop before the Austrians are able to capture the capital. With this surprise attack, Austria is in Empire age.
Casualties: 400 Austrians, 200 Silesians

In a heroic march to the south, Siamese troops, though outnumbered five to one break through the Ganges lines and are able to meet up with the mother country. The gap was soon filled with more Ganges troops that are at the borders and are prepared to defend. An attack then led by Siam has met with failure due to the tiredness of the soldiers who walked from the south and fought from the north Elsewhere, the Siamese land a full force upon the remaining Singapore Island destroying the last of the army and taking the King into captivity.
Casualties: 300 Siamese, 100 Ganges, 200 Singapore

Portuguese try many tactics this time. With a small push of nearly a hundred men, the Portuguese captured much of the land north by striking from Iron Face itself. Then with a brilliant maneuver, Portuguese general Frederick Charista, a member of the royal family, led a full force of Galician and Burgundian soldiers in the south after evacuated their previous strike, and then a smaller one in the north. This was a great move, enabling them to surround the small Roman guard that was in the north. In Venice, the rest of the force landed and pursued the smaller Roman forces in the valleys of northern Rome. There were hardly any Romans in any of these battles, usually consisting of nearly three groups of two hundred or three hundred men on each front. Through a great use of valor and pride, the Romans are able to put up a fight.
Casualties: 400 Portuguese, 400 Romans, 200 Welsh, 300 Aragonese, 100 Galician

The Grand Mannerheim Palace is complete in Fennia, bringing the culture of this nation closer to the strongest in the world.

Somali forces retreat in Ruwenzori, allowing the Ruwenzori to gain land and believe they are winning. When the Somali forces begin to launch full attacks at night their spirits are slashed again. Desperate to get away from the “night riders”, the Ruwenzori retreat to walled villages and the capital. Tanzanian capital is surrounded.
Casualties: 200 Somali, 400 Somali horsemen, 100 Ugandans, 200 Tanzanians, 100 Ruwenzori

The other Indian nations are considering joining the Ganges in aiding against the Siamese.

--- NPC Notices ---

--- OOC ---

Finmaster: please take into account next turn you may only have an Outstanding economy by the turn ends. So if you are getting many economies in one turn, you best spend them all or they will be wasted. And you don’t have a thousand men.

I will be adding more NPC’s halfway through this turn. Most will be in east Africa, northern India, and a few in western Sahara.

To the World
From Imperial China:
Our people is in help, the fall of Beijing has hurt me and my people as much to the center of our heart. The fall of Peking is not the fall of Imperial China! I will fight to my death, but when my death comes, the birth of a new and more powerful China will come. We ask for your help, as much as we have offered our help to your countries, we are in need now. We will be a united China once again, though we direly need your help. Though it is only your decision, if you would rather let us fight on ourselves and hope we will fall leaving you as most powerful, or if you will help us and in the future you will be repaid. Though either choice taken, we will come ontop, and wish that you come ontop with us.

To Siam and Japan;
From Imperial China:
Call to arms! Our alliance must take its toll as this will be the fall of it if we do not re-unite China. We are in need of the loyalty of our allies!

To Yangzte
From Imperial China:
Join us, or lose everything, our problems can still be handled while we conquer you. Give up the capitol and you will not give up your powers. All you have to do is surrender your army. You will still be under control of your country, though under China.

To Those and the Soldiers Loyal of Thier Homeland, China
From Emperor Amirsan II in the city of Hong Kong;
I am here today, to announce to you what you have not heard. Our great city of Peking has fallen. The nerves of those people has disunited the country. We must stick together. WE MUST FIGHT BACK FOR OUR HOMELAND! We must defeat those who have brought hell to our great empire. This is OUR nation, AND WE MUST DEFEND IT WITH OUR BLOOD AND HONOR, WITH THE SWEAT BENEATH OUR HEADS, WITH SOULS OF THOSE WHO HAVE DIED IN THE GREAT CITY OF BEIJING, WE MUST STAND FOR OUR REVENGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will not stay hit, we will get up, on our two feet, and hand them thier false pride. We can only do this with the support of our people, the people in which we are loyal. THE PEOPLE OF CHINA! We have lived here for thousands of years, THIS IS OUR HOME, THEY SHALL NOT TAKE OUR HOMES. WE WILL FIGHT TO THE DEATH OF THIER MOTHERS. We will recieve our VENGEANCE! ARE YOU WITH ME!?!?! ARE YOU WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
