Unique Unit - Kesateria

The followers of Iskandar are a highly trained ellite corps. Originally meant to be the bodyguards of the warlord, Kesateria became the only units left to Iskandar when he fled Acheh against the incoming Sri Lankan forces.
Kesateria are typically armed with a short spear (1m long) and a parang (machete) with a 21" long bronze blade, both weapons being wielded one-handed. Armour is very sparse, a small bronze buckler being the norm but with little else. Occasionally, a cloth cap is worn to distinguish themselves from the enemy.

Kesateria were used in all types of engagements from open battle to skirmishing. However, their forte is jungle skirmish as they have been trained in the thick jungles of Acheh (and now Melaka).

In open combat, the spear is usually thrown before engaging in the final melee. In the jungle, however, the spear becomes the primary weapon unless the opportunity presents itself for an accurate shot with the spear. The parang is a utility tool used to cut wood (as well as people) when living inside the jungle.

OOC: I've made them badly armoured as this reflects typical Southeast Asian Bronze Age warriors. However, their weapon (the parang) is stolen from Borneon warriors. In the picture, it's iron but just imagine it a rusty brown colour and things'll be fine..

Expand with all our might towards the Nile. Escort the settlers with 750 Swift Hunters. If they need to engage Nubians, fine. They are to use the same ambush encirclement tactics as usual, just make it to the Nile!

If anyone can be spared, also try to expand around Lybia and towards the west.

Invest our 1 purchasing thing into the project.

Cheif among these, we are to try to breed horses and find the secret to spearmen. If the former is successful, try to make a wheeled device which these are to be harnessed to to carry our warriors (four horse chariot).

Orders for the Palenque
Jason, wouldn't my canals count as infastructure?

- Create a small tax hike, use these taxes to improve the canals, and allow for quick travel around Palenque, and for an increase in agriculture.

- Spend an economy point and create a fleet of sea going vessels (galleys) Send these galleys northwards, and explore the islands to the north which fishermen tell us about. If we land in a suitable area for a settlement, establish a colony. (Cuba, carribean)

- Begin mining for gold in earnest, to use as extremely valuable trade goods and for coinage. (Try to increase the economy)

- Begin a project to make Palenque the most beautiful, and most educated city in the world. Call this project - Itzamna's Will (Creates many temples and adds to the beauty of Palenque, the city of gold. The City will be aligned to astronomical patterns. Have surveyers and astrologists map out a plan, and then have our leading architects construct wonderful temples and pyramids devoted to the gods, and to learning.)
