We would like to point out to Brazil that we have been around for seven years, fighting to gain our right to exist. The Brazilian effort at trying to assert some sort of control or influence over us is at best laughable.

You mean the old monarchy you just destroyed? Your revolution is nothing but a coup to seize power. And that new agreement represents a threat to the few remaining virtuous countries on that continent.

Thank God you have no sins to account for.

To Zambia and Burkina Faso: As we share common views on how a proper government should be structured, and common interests in defending ourselves from imperialists and improving the lives of our people, I suggest that we should form a trilateral defensive pact, and a trade union, to further exchange of goods and commerce between our peoples, and to increase the security of our glorious African nations.

From Zambia, Burkina Faso
We would strongly support a defensive pact, however we'd like to start with that, and talk about trade unions and the like at a later time.

@spaceman98: Don't think of trade as some kind of government project - trade happens on its own without you having to order it. The only time it might matter is in times of urgency, when the lack or presence of a resource could substantially effect the course of events (like war time resources during a war).

To Mississippi,
From the United Commons,

Enough with the antagonism and clumsy espionage. The United Commons is so tired of conflict and violence. And your people are tired of it also.

Hand over your WU government puppets, stop sending saboteurs and subversionists to the commons, and pledge to normalize relations. Or else.

From Mississippi
We do not harbour members of the WU executive, nor do we perform espionage in your country, nor further do we send saboteurs or subversionists to the Commons. We agree that our two states should take measures to normalize relations, and would be open to private discussion of such means if the UC has ideas.

@Christos: You may wish to send me an outline of your idea for La Plata before you send orders, as it's an important country and I'd like to know what you had in mind for it.

@Bair: It's free and can be yours if you send orders.

@all: I haven't sent out PMs about espionage and other stuff yet, those'll come within a day or two.

Defensive pact signed!

@trade: Ah, I see, that makes sense.

To California
From the United Commons

To clarify, the UC has never "violated Mormon State territorial integrity". The opposite is true however- as evidenced by the secretive military convoys intercepted by the UC airforce.

This aside, we would ask that California step in to arbitrate the current disagreements between the state of Mississippi and the UC. Specifically we would like them to stop harboring and funding secessionists and saboteurs. If they do that, the UC would like to normalize relations and potentially begin trading with our western partners.

The Republic does not wish to take any sides but until there is formal proof that the convoys were transporting military and not civilian supplies (as both the mormons and baptists claimed the convoys were transporting civilian goods), we have no choice but to take the defense of the Mormon State on this affair.

However, if it is discovered that the convoys were of military equipement
we will withdraw our accusations and provide apology for our mistake.

As for the matter of the Mississipi dispute we are willing to mediate the negotiations once our own independant investigation is conducted.

The United Commons looks forward to a fair and impartial investigation by a third party and feels confident that the findings of Californian investigators will confirm those of United Commons intelligence operatives.

We also look forward to the imminent withdrawal of Californian accusations and subsequent apology.

To Mississippi,
From The United Common,

We cannot ignore that you disrespected our territorial sovereignty by sending unregistered and unlicensed material (which our intelligence operatives continue to insist were military in nature) into United Commons sovereign territory without the permission or knowledge of our border security agents. And that furthermore, when we took the appropriate steps to control this subversive smuggling operation, your air force invaded sovereign UC airspace and shot at our aircraft!!! Frankly, you can consider yourself lucky that we did not respond to your incursion into our airspace as many in our war cabinet suggested we should- with an equivalent incursion into your airspace. You (and the Mormons) had no business involving yourselves in the domestic affairs of our sovereign nation, and certainly had no business sending convoys of anything, regardless of it they were military materials or not into our nation without coordinating your efforts with us. Failure to do was both implicit and tactic support for the corrupted and traitorous secessionists.

We would also like to add that despite protests from officials in your government, your people, your press, and our intelligence operatives are all equally convinced of your involvement in not only hiding the traitor WU executives but in directly supporting the secessionist WU movement. How is it that your own people and press know what our intelligence community knows and yet you continue to deny it speaks to the massive divergence between your ivory-tower clerical leadership and the everyday concerns and lives of your people.

Its time to drop the absurd pretense of your claimed innocence. Your actions are like those of Putin in Ukraine back in 2014 and he too claimed innocence all the while sending material and military support to rebels in Ukraine and organizing and funding their leaders. At least he had the good sense not to send Russian aircraft into Ukraine. If you were innocent you would not have sent a convoy of materials to support rebels, you would not have tried to shoot down our aircraft. You would not be harboring the rebel leadership.

With all that said, we stand by our words: “The United Commons is so tired of conflict and violence." All we want is a chance to rebuild our country and return to normalcy. Help us move in that direction. Help yourselves focus on what is important, your people, their dissatisfaction, truth and transparency in your cryptic government.

Let us indeed start normalizing relations. Lets begin by having you hand over the WU leadership. The next step will be to formalize our diplomatic relations. Should you hand over the WU leadership, we would invite diplomats from Mississippi to send ambassadors to the clades of their choice, while our executive council would be willing to send ambassadors to your nation. Perhaps following on that we could begin accelerating trade between our people.

To the Mormon State,
From The United Common,

You had no right to send materials into our sovereign territory without our knowledge or permission. You engaged in a large-scale act of illegal smuggling and some amongst our executive claim your acts were those of a power at war with ourselves as you were specifically supporting an army of our state, within our territory, in defiance of our laws.

We, as we have told the state of Mississippi, are not eager for more war and bloodshed. Instead, we are eager to seek a diplomatic solution to this conflict.

Should you wish to renew good relations with the UC and in particular our customs and borders agencies, we would look forward to renewed friendly relations based on trust, mutual understanding, and mutual adherence to the rule of law, including that of the United Commons. For that to happen, we need to know that we can trust you, …and for that to happen, you need to realize that your actions were highly aggressive, illegal, shortsighted, and just plain wrong.

To Algeria: I believe that we have much to gain from mutual trade and commerce. You have vast supplies of oil, wheareas we have resources of gold, dimonds and tin. I believe that we would both benifit from trade of these resources.

To Congo

I also see the potential in increased trade between our countries, and other African nations. To help reach this potential, the Algerian government will be decreasing taxes on all African goods in our southernmost port of Dakhla and the eastern port of Tobruk.

To African Nations

While on the topic of Africa, I do like the concept of the Pan-African Conference, and think it would work well with a biannual schedule. If there are no objections, and if there is interest in another conference, then I must say Algeria would be up to the task of hosting it.

OOC: Super psyched this is back up and running. :)

There is no reason to be afraid. La Plata wishes peace and our military invasion of Rio Grande was only an act of reclaiming a breakaway province. Other than that, we do not support war, as war is an imperialistic tool used by capitalist pigs to enrich themselves with the blood of the workers. So, you should not be afraid of war.

However, if you decide to take any sort of military action against our ally Sao Paulo, we will uphold our agreement with them and shall defend them at all costs.

We will not be starting this war. May peace reign for now.

I think I've gotten out all the intelligence and secret type things to all the relevant players. I have not looked at the most recent batch of diplomacy yet, I'll get around to that a little later.

OOC: Joining as the Gaucho Republic. Existing diplomatic arrangements will be honored, of course.

@Immaculate: I think you should double check if you mixed up Mississippi and the Mormon State. The Mormon State's convoys were not destroyed, and they defended them with their air force, it was Mississippi's that were destroyed due to their lack of an air force for cover.

@Scarlet_King: You've been recognized as leader of the Guacho people.

There is no such thing as Africa, no such thing as being African. See what the Congo's "conference" really is: a court of dictators developing closer ties for their own selfish ideological aims.

"Colleagues; brothers, sisters, leaders of Europe; this war now ends. It must. For this conflict to continue, to allow it to escalate, would be to allow the worst in ourselves to ravage all that is good in this continent. It would be an affront to wisdom and rationality.

As it stands, the nations of Europe stand on the precipice of total war; France, in the midst of its civil war, has now been invaded by numerous foreign powers. Instead of raising their voices against these acts, neighboring countries begin to posture for war themselves, granting tacit endorsement, and sliding Europe further down an icy slope towards destruction. Any escalation of the French civil war will be devastating to the continent. Any continuation at its present intensity will devastate the continent. It is blind destruction, and it cannot be tolerated.

It is in this spirit, then, that the Technocratic Republic of Sweden calls upon the leaders of Europe, Technocrats and otherwise, to rely on their propensity for wisdom and heed the call of their better selves; remove yourselves from France, and allow their people to resolve their war themselves. We call too upon the men and women of France; do not allow your great nation to submit itself entirely to its lower instincts of battle and bloodshed. Do not see your own sons and daughters slaughtered in this manner.

The time of choosing draws neigh; choose wisely, august leaders. There is only one true choice. This war now ends."

I see now that most of our fellow African nations do not wish to cooperate with us on a very large scale. I will now say that I wish to submit an application to join this defensive pact, both to promote good relations between us, and to show other countries that cooperation is key to our success.

Treaty of Recife

Let it be known to the world that henceforth and for as long as this treaty remains valid, Brazil and the Gaucho Republic agree to provide each other aid, either economically or militarily, should any third party threaten the security of one of the signing parts.

Also included here, in an implicit way, a treaty of non-aggression.

The Korean peninsula has been divided for far too long. Indeed, it is a tragedy that so many must remain divided after they were rescued from the Korean tyranny. To end that suffering, we propose a plan to unite the two halves of the peninsula. In it, you would cede the rest of the peninsula up to a to-be-determined point to us in return for a defensive alliance and two EP. We are open to negotiations on the matter, but the two divided halves of a once whole people must not be punished for the sins of their former government. Loved one should be returned to loved one.
