Stop the Presses!

Afforess, well, with BULL being added in by EmperorFool and AUA by you, this version will be way too satisfying for a long time :D.

Btw, I was thinking about Civ5 version of this mod and I was wondering if you would mind when you go and mod Civ5 for RoM version that you not follow Zappara's current RoM. After all, we had to toss out some unnecessary units that some other people pressured Zappara into adding in and thus ruining RoM to a small extent. What I visualize is to have Civ5 as a spine and you slowly and systemically add on all techs and units we have here but never add units that are overpowered for humans, even if a lot of people wail and cry for them.

Just my opnion here. To be honest, I don't even know who pressured Zappara to add in Entertainers, flamethrowers, animal units and Medic. I don't even want to know :). No need to get feelings hurt, OK. I just want to be honest for future Civ5 release of RoM:AND type mod :).

*sniffles at the loss of complex vassalage in particular*

The lack of Enhanced Vassalage is disappointing, but with CiV 66 days away there does have to be a stopping point :)

I look fondly at CiV and am already planning and plotting for modding it myself - maybe this time joining a team and modding my own work as opposed to tweaking other people's...

If that's your plan of action, you might want to start asking around now. Most of the major modders that are staying have already formed modding teams or created plans... I can't say any more than that though... :p

Will you try to sell downloadable content, Afforess? As a steady tester, can I get it for free? ;-)
Damn, I don't buy Steam-using software. Damn I don't buy a new comp for this game. Damn maybe next year when RoM 1.0 for CiV is out... ;-)

Great, but in fact I think you should be paid by fireaxis for all the work you do and you should also be part of the official modding team for CiV expansions, you deserve it.

Just got curious because you wrote

Lol, in the middle of the worst recession since the 30's? I wish. I can't even get a summer job or scholarship to pay for college. For fun, just see how bad our state is doing!

Man, thats bad, I really feel sorry for you guys in Michigan. But don't be all too sad, just take a look at Puerto Rico and feel a bit better... ;-)

Nonsense. Feel bad for these folks.

Anyway, I have no idea how the US recession is reported in Europe. I just know the entire US media is bought out by one politician or another, and they are all lying. The recession is a lot worse than they say it is. But I'm deviating into politics, so I'll leave it at that.

the only thing our news report on US economy are stock exchange data from the Wall Street and how they affect us. not much interest beyond that as europe and especially germany start to focus more on asia.
but is it really that bad? in germany we talk about the crisis but we don't feel it.

Yeah, the US is in a W-Shape recession, (currently near the middle of the W, about to go back down again). The reason the economy in the US is going to go south is that, in the US, States have to keep balanced budgets each year, they can't deficit spend. The recession has severely lowered the tax income states have been receiving, but Obama's stimulus gave the states 150 Billion dollars to keep them afloat. Well, the stimulus money just ran out, and the states are SOL now, and going to be laying of 100,000's of government employees. Michigan and California are the most in-debted states. California has some 2 Billion in debts. Expect to see that state fail to come up with a budget and have a state-wide shut down of services. Heck, Michigan shut down only a few years back under better circumstances then we have now.

Sadly, all I have to show are modules :) I won't know what I want to do until I know what the modding engine is capable of, in any case. If I was art talent I would be more in demand than code.

Unfortunetely US crisis is used by European governments as a cheap excuse for their failed policy. Indebtness reached 115% of annual GDP in Greece, and 115,8% in Italy. Other countries are not doing much better. Years of populistic, welfare policy, irresponsible financial management take the toll. Economists has been warning on this issues for years; now politicians can blame American greedy corporations :( but this only fudges the issue.

Time for Rampant Civ5 Speculation. I've had a look at the file structure of Civ5, since I've preloaded it, and it appears to be similar to Civ4. Could I have been granted my wish of Civ4 with multi-core support? ;)

Afforess, I just want to say AWESOME JOB on your mod, I prefer your version much more than regular RoM, it is just too bad that I waited so long to try out some of civ IV mods (I only started in last few weeks).

That being said I can't wait to see what are you going to come up with new iteration. Could we hope to ciV AND? Soon?
