Story:

As reported by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, a recent winter sports pep rally at Rosemount (Minn.) High featured a comedy skit which took advantage of unknowing captains of the various winter varsity squads. After the team captains walked into the gym blindfolded, they were told that they were going to be kissed by a special someone, and then were asked to guess who it was that kissed them.

...

It turns out that the person who kissed the athletes -- in every circumstance -- was their own opposite sex parent. While no one has questioned the comedic intentions of the prank, the stunt itself has still drawn plenty of criticism not for the student athletes, but for what the parents did in executing the practical joke. As you can see above, some of the parents took their roles as "special someones" to a level that left many onlookers feeling uncomfortable and even queasy.

What's the creepiest moment? When the dad grabs his daughters face at the start? When the mom and son are on the gym floor? Did you find this hilarious or just absolutely awkward and cringe-inducing? Is this harmless fun or over the line?

It's awkward and way too embarassing to be doing to someone, but besides that it's just a dumb harmless prank.

..who the hell thought this was a good idea and who are the brain dead morons who said "yeah great idea lets do it!".

LOL that's really funny. On one end, I wouldn't be too keen on my mother making out with me, but I wouldn't mind if it happened to someone else.

The troll in me would totally do this, but the perhaps parent me in the far-off future would wonder if it could mess up the kids.

Sucks for the people pranked, but funny as hell otherwise. I love how the one kid was trying to grope his mom.

Completely revolting, lacking in judgement, inappropriate.
I agree.
What sort of messed up parents are these that they agreed to this crap?
What sort? Really messed up parents.
..who the hell thought this was a good idea and who are the brain dead morons who said "yeah great idea lets do it!".
Somebody did.

Could any of the students press charges against the school for this?

I feel dirty for watching something that disturbing

Better question, who's idea was it to put this video on the internet where it will end up in the hands (or at least one free hand) of those with less comedically pure intentions?

It's hilarious when you look back at it in a few months.
Nothing to worry about.

I don't think there is a reason given by nature why it should mess you up if you feel something sexual for your parents. Which would mean that if it does then only because society tells you it is supposed to. And this prank can be viewed to shed light on that and I usually approve of shedding light on the true nature of social standards. I don't know a reason not to in this instance.
But to leave that boring pseudeo-intellectual-moralistic stuff:
People are having a good time and nobody is seemingly hurt. So it's alright in my book.

Ugh, what parent would make out like that with their child? When I first read the OP I thought the parents were blindfolded to but apparently they weren't, why on Earth would they go along with this?
