Nature makes it very clear that you should be repelled by sexual relationships with anyone you grew up with. I don't remember the name, but there is a psychological barrier that is built up (until you're six I believe) which makes people you lived with during this time "sexually repellent".

I know the very idea of kissing my mother or sister makes me want to puke. No exageration. Someone who would play such a prank on me would see his teeth fly - after I'm done retching.

Though this joke is of rather bad taste, but I don't blame as much the pranksters themselves as the parents who get along with it. It's really sick.
 
I find it disgusting and am rather embarrassed that such things happened in the state I live in.
 
It's not really the idea of a parent kissing their child that freaks me out, it's the idea that they were tricked into it that causes a disgust reaction.

This argument completely fails my point, which rests on the assumption that this barrier has already been broken and/or isn't sufficiently developed to begin with.

There are *ALWAYS* exceptions to every rule, including the one he just stated.
 
I don't see much fun in it, but neither do I see any harm. The more prudish people, with a very ritualized view of the world, might confuse this with "sex" or be shocked that a supposed taboo was violated. Presumably those who did agree to trick their sons/daughters knew them well enough that no such confusions or disgust were possible!
 
What's so shocking is that so many parents were willing to do this to their child. It's kind of worrying to think that in an average school population, there are a whole bunch of kids with parents who are willing to do this :sad:
 
WTH is wrong with people ?
This would have been funny in a movie where the parents don't know who they're making out with either, but they did.
Or is ths just cultural dissonance and Minnesota is an incestuous redneck state ?

Agreed.

Not only do I find it disgusting and disturbing, but I can't help but feel the absolute humiliation of the students. If that happened to me, then people from thousands of miles away would see the mushroom cloud rising from the school, with another, larger one rising from my house.
