This is in response to the "stuff white people like" thread.

There seems to be a racial double standard. It is ok to stereotype white people in polite company, while doing the same to a black person or any minority group is the height of repugnance regardless of socioeconomic status.

Is this accepted because white people simply don't care, and people are always going to make racist jokes, so why not pick the target that doesn't care?

I dunno, I stereotype everyone. I mean, I'm scared about publicly stereotyping Muslims or black people, since I don't want to get blown up or shot in a drive-by or something, but you know.

Anywho, to seriously answer your question: it's only racist if you find it insulting, I think. I mean, most white people I know who see the site laugh and acknowledge that there are strains of truth to it. I laugh when I listen to Russel peters stereotype brown people, it's funny. And I'm pretty sure black people laugh during Chris Rock's comedy routines.

There actually are some stuff black people like blogs but none of them are no where near as successful as the stuff white people like one.

The stuff white people like like blog was written by Christian Lander who is a white man HIMSELF so I doubt he's racist against white people.

The things in his blog are not really hateful. Its just a guide to a way a certain type of people live. He even said himself (i'm paraphrasing here) [its less about ethnicity, and more about a certain kind of lifestyle.] It just so happens that the vast majority of the people in the that lifestyle happen to be white.

have you even read his blog? Give me a specific example, and explain why it would be racist. And I'm not even going to respond to any post on this thread involving coldplay, as they have nothing to do with this.

big booties
clothes that are way too large
grabbing at pant crotches in order to prevent them from falling down
forming large groups of people in small hallways, then yelling loudly whenever people try to make their way through
being ironic by labeling things as racist
certain kinds of food (see tags)

But these are negative stereotypes that potray blacks as bad people, therefore it is racist. These stereotypes seem to be hateful.

The stuff white people like stereotypes are not hateful, so therefore you couldn't
make that comparison.
