Northern Europe

Scandinaves
The Scandnaves, aside form lookign to expand thier economy, sail to join the british in thioer mighty defensiv eof nothing. no attack ever comes, and they join the “big sit” as its known, between the British, and Pict forces. Enjoying the comapny, they soon become known for thier surprisinglly good humour, bad tempers when flared, and incrediblly boastful stories, few of which are belived, by either the british, or the picts who for reason somtimes under this poretense of truce, as no one wishes ot take offenise, be seen around the British camp fires.

though in thier native seas, the Scandinaves are busy! establsihing a small settlement on the coast of ‘finland’, so named for the people, who call thesleves Finns

Middle East and India

Persia
The perisan begin these harsh year sbe re-inforcing thier eleite corps of Clibinarii cavalry- and begin a massive rotation of troops from the frontir lines back into Perisa proper, to be replaced with fresh troops- however, the people to the north notice the troosp movments, and when the opertunity comes, they strike! with little reisitence as th eborder guard moves south to be exchanged, the “white Huns” as they are called make a massiv eincursion- but the forces of Persia are ready! for as soon as the fresh troops srive, the Perisans make a huge incerson into the barbarians territory- both sides have yet to mett for a stern battle, mostlly the offenives are simply shows of force- however these nomads, liek the ones who have recentlyl struck in europe are very serius abotu tthier buisness, and will soon, fo not appeased, bring the might of the wrath upon perisa, for takign the steppe that they veiw as rightfully thiers...

Hedjaz
The New lederof hedjaz- the Prophet Muhammed himself- afte rhaving fully userped poer from the native dynasty, is enraged at the fall fo his dervishes in the north- and after compeltlyl subdueing the sothern rebellion, has his southern troops march north, prepared to spae no life in thier quest to bring abotu the sprea dof htier faith- and as the approce the top of the cres tf the first hill, the prepare, giving lustfull hollars and shouts, prepareing to subdue this foe in the name of thier god!

however, the stop dead int heir tracks when they notice a continget of 300 Eastern roman Imperial infanntry, adn 200 Cataphracts accepting the local leaders submssion to eastern roman rule, and when he looks to see what all the comotion is about, ha hastilyl signs the agreement, before the comannder fo the Roman forces can say anything- and then looks over to the, at this poitn furious muhammed, and starts laughing the kind of laugh that a man who has just been spared death can do.- seeing the large force of now tresspassers on Eastern roamn land, he first gives the sgrement to an aide, and sends him of to Constantinople itself, along with a messag eof the current situation, he gives the hedjazites an ultimatum- leave, or suffer the wrath fo the eastern roman empire, and the roman legue of nations- faced with this, and furious the enitre time, for the first time since his rise to power, Mohammed is stemmed, and forced to turn back- he may be powerful, he may be courageous, he may have the unwavering loyalty of his troops, but he is no idiot- the Eastern roman empire is powereful- the western roman empire has thus far been unstopable according to the tales that have spread of tghe deeds of its vile heathern emperor- th ecombined force fo the two power sof Rome woudl be nearlly unstoppable agiasnt his lands, and so, cursing vengence upon that leade rin particuler, while the chieftian of thew small tribes takes a position right behind the Roman general- with perhaps the biggest smile imaginable on his face, the hedjazites retreat.

Gupta
Ahhhh, the Gupta- long neglected by th eoutside world, and news, the Gupta have quite a heart time expanding into most of the unfilled territory in Eastern India, and expanding thier economic horizons while thier at it- while everyhting is quite in idia fo rht etime being, thier are rumbles in the jungle, ad who knows what could come out...

Wei
The Wei state, offically, only increses thier economy. offically.

Yamato
The yamot, seek to bth Gorw thier economy- and try to expand thier horizons by trying to get the yayoi to unfy- claiming that thier culture is one, the yamato are rebuffed in full- the Yamto kindlly explain that the Moderator made them a nation because thier culture was disting whole fromt he Yamato, and while technically, as far as the moderator knows- the almighty god of aweness, Xenocles of the west, there was no unfied yayoi state- only alarge area claim itself as a single culture...

Silla
They too increse thier eocnomy... how myseterious...

Funan
Wow. Another econ increse....

Wu & Shu
The war had been pronounced over- and peace was set to reign in the far east once agian... however, it was not to be- brbied by some unkown source, or rather, promised ot be paid later, a corrupt Wu general continues the fight! Currentlyl unkown who the backer is- and seeminglly suspects all around the Kings od wu and Shu dont knwo how to respsond- after all, the commander knows how to tackle Shu defences- he has alreayd pressed the attack- and of course, as a native Wu, he knows as well thier tactics... quite a predicment... how will the volitile far east react to the situation? no one knows...

XNES_update_5.gif

to goths
from alans

we will ally with you against our hunnic cousins but we want our lands back. peace with us also ends the war vs. eastern rome

To: All Europe
From: Huns[/b]

for the right price, or land, or a combiantion of the two, the Huns will dole out 6000 mercneris to do your bidding. howeve,r if we do not recive the payment on time, as planned, and in the amount we wish, you will be invaded, and forced to submit.

Brittania to the Scandinavians and the Picts :

Well this is anticlimactic. Okay, so it turns out none of us really want to fight eachother. To be honest, I can only vaguely recollect what we were going to fight about anyway. Damn fine stuff, that German ale...Yes. Anyway, we propose an alternative. Instead of an all-out war, with lots of nasty marching and sleeping in the rain, and cold food and poor-quality beer, we could skip all that and still have the fun and glory of bloodshed and battlefield chaos with: a tournament!
Each of the three of us could field say, 6 soldiers apiece, and they could duke it out. Purely good honorable competition, friendly game, brotherhood of the northern races and all that. When the soldiers have had enough (or have killed every one else) every competitor still standing will receive a barrell of the finest mead, personally furnished by the king of Britain. After that, there will be no hard feelings.
It will be just like a good war. You can go home and tell the missus you had a war, and she'll be none the wiser. You get to do all the fun parts, with none of the unpleasant stuff I mentioned earlier. And if we get bored later on, we can always come back and do a real war later. But let's try this first, what do you say?

Brittania to Western Rome :

Do you need assistance? If we get this war/nonwar thing sorted out, we might be able to offer a bit of help.

Brittania to Eastern Rome :

We hear reports of a successful campaign! We also hear reports that your army was not able to reach the enemy forces, because they had to fight some Asian horde or somesuch? Please advise.

Orders and story and stuff when stats come.

Xen, what about the bloody Crimea?

From: Visigoths
To: Alans

No deal. Land that we take remains ours.

From: Visigoths
To: Eastern Romans

Looks to me as if your "glorious conquest of Gothic lands" did not go as planned, eh? If the Alans agree, we will sign peace with you as well, but only if you cede Crimea to us.

sure thing

@Das- samthing more or less applies to asll of crimea- which do you think your soldires woudl be more concerned about- a reliticlly wortless area ofE.Roman soil, benifical ony in that it ensures pirates cannit estabish themsleves there, or a 6000+ strong forceof nomads threating to invade you at any time to claim ahwt they veiw as thiers?

How the bloody hell did the troops sent there know about the Huns so early? We don't have radio yet... do we?

The Scandinave warriors hade served their heroic purpose and deterred a Pictish invasion of Britain. Unfortunately the only Pictish casualty inflicted was during the great log toss, when Olaf the Fat broke the record and hit a poor Pictish bystander in the head with the log. Some say it wasn't an accident. Either way the soldiers enjoyed the Brittanians company, and even the Pict's company.

To: Brittania & Picts

We think that the tournament is a good idea, but we wish to raise the stakes. We propose all three put one economy level in to the pool, winner takes all. What do you say?

To: Picts
From: Scandinaves
You know, you aint really as nasty as we first thought. So how about peace?

read the story- the Huns more or less came up t them, slapped them in them in the face and saud "we're here!"

we think it'd be a fair lot better to band together, then to fight, personally-what twith the torubles on th emainl land that even we out here hear rumours about.

They came to the forces in Roxolianni-Alan territory, or so the story indicats. No mention of Crimea whatsoever.

with armies only about 8000 strong at most for everyone, to have a viable battle, most of your forces need ot be amaglimate din one specific area at a time (@amenhotep--mind you I sad most, not ALL, most is, for a nation liek yours leaving 2500-3000 men still in position across your huge Empire)

No! End this war before the Huns rample ALL of us!

he Huns will work for you in battle, with a 6000 strong contingent of medium horse archers and light cavalry, for money, land, or a combination fo the two. howeve,r we expect to be paid promptlly, and for what we agree to be paid, otherwise you will suffer our wrath, as the other 6000 horsemen of our nation come down upon you.

To Huns

We could spare you an economic point or two. We need help against the Goths.
