, so I'm glad that's cleared up. Good stuff on the SGL. I'll be honest and say that my first reaction to us having the Pyramids was along the lines of "when in the world did we decide to build that thing!!!"
, but now I see where Hycrest asked our opinions on the matter (posing as jb at the time

on that.
Overview
We built three more cities, one in the face of the Aztecs.
We revolted right away and got 6 turns of anarchy.
I went ahead and played up to turn 70 and that put us one turn away from finishing anarchy. Nobody likes to get a set of turns filled with anarchy so I hope nobody minds the extra turns to get to 70.
Paris: settler, warrior
because it sets up the 4-turner.We're also very advanced compared to everyone so I wouldnt be surprised if we got a demand for our technology.
Workers finish road in jungle, two go for an intermediate roading of a grass and the third will join two from around Lyons to work on the settler factory. The sugar irrigators are going stay around and mine over the water.
Yep.Paris: warrior, settler
Rheims is moving to build a barracks that we'll use a chop on to uncover some plains that we might want to mine because of all the floodplains around.
Orleans: settler, barracks
Lyons: curragh, curragh
Let's use a curragh for a sucide run when the opportunity presents itself. More on that later...Rheims: warrior, warrior
We trade Writing to Portugal for HBR and 140 gold and then trade Writing around for about 80 more gold. Set research for Polytheism.

HyCrest said:I believe Portugal has Math. Somebody does. And going for Polytheism seemed like a good one that we could easily get a monopoly on and trade.
And the city by the Aztecs was settled on the forest tile two tiles from the hill. I liked the wider spacing from our other cities and it gave us a good rally point just outside the Aztec capitol.
. I'm still in favor of a tighter spacing for our cities--cxxc--rather than wider, mainly due to minimizing the distance portion of the corruption formula and to maximize our worked tiles around the capital. After we start getting to our highly corrupt distances from the capital, we want even a tighter spread--cxc--to maximize our numbers of specialist farms.

. Same goes to the ToA. If we can't capture the ToA, we can cash-rush temples.
@Harriet... How's it going?
I finally got my yonger boy (HyCrest) interested in Civ enough to take on an SG. Your feedback would be appreciated because I know he won't listen to me.![]()

--but we need to be careful what we capture so as to not set off a GA until we want to set off our GA.
