Go ahead somebody, I have finals coming up! Besides it is hard to be into this game when I see it every 10 days ack! hehe go ahead (I get shotgun in the spaceship).

Up next - Nanook

FlubberDubs - Let me know if this is a skip, or drop. I am consider it a drop unless you say otherwise.

This is why I am now taking 6 or 7 players. To allow for drop out room. Trouble is when I game gets stuck for a few days, people lose interest.

Waiting on Nanook (< 24 hours)

I would like to get on board if there's still room. Anyway, I think there should be some kind of rule like when its your turn you have 12h to respond to the thread to show your alive, and a total of 48h to play the game. Otherwise, you're skipped.

Pggar - I added you to the game.

We do have a 72 hour max for you status. However, I am will probably make it 48 hours for future games.

You will have a challenge here. The greek cities are lousy production cities :(

It feels like just a few years ago it was my turn to lead. Oh yeah it was just a few turns ago ;) Made some deals for luxuries, traded for Free Artistry and then sold it to all other Civs. Noticed someone else had discovered Economics so I sold that off as well. Discovered Military Tradition and upgraded all Knights to Cavalry. Threatened the English city of Liverpool with 8 Cavs, and they offered up tribute of 10 gold/turn in exchange for continued peace. Continued building civic buildings in the various cities, and developed a bunch of terrain.

Up next - donsig

We are know #1 in score. We have improve a lot :)

Donsig, good luck, 6 years for use to get the trading company.

Not much commentary, as it looks like build improvements. If we get the trading company... with Wall street.

The republic thrived from 1610 through 1655. Our cities concentrated on building universities so our young people can study the sciences in the tradition of their father before them. The republic is also in the process of enhancing its fiscal position. The treasury continues to grow under the tuteledge of Adam Smith who is building an office on Wall street. This is good as the end of this period saw the expiration of two lucrative trade deals: Greece no longer imports spice from America nor silk from Germany. Herr Bismark wanted over 700 gold plus other things that the current leaders were not willing to part with. Old Abe wanted the newly discovered Greek secrets of magnatism and other odds and ends but this was unacceptable. Our supply of iron near Rome is gone.

The Aztecs have built Shakespeares Theatre.:( They also have a Jaguar warrior within our borders. We tried ignoring him but he won't go away.

There are rumblings in parts of our country to have the English expelled from our land. This sentiment is gaining support both in and out of government circles...

I'm on it. I'll be playing 20 turns. If that's a problem, let me know it fast (before I end the turns :D).

I ended up playing 15 turns as I'm running late and got to go out. Here's the log.

1. 1660 - For some reason we were being whipped by the Aztecs. They used to get 2 luxuries plus 80/turn, while we would get only one luxury. That's over. Now we get dyes + 40/turn +10gold, while they get our 2 luxuries. The Germans now pay more (15/turn more) to obtain ivory. Incresed (on 7/turn+150gold+wmap) the price of ivory and gems to the English and (on 2/turn+35gold) to the Americans. As you will see those actions were a blessing to our treasure. Our distribution was changed to 2.6.2. Lots of WLKD in the horizon, faster science output, and still 17gold/turn. Ok, there are governors ruling cities, and that's just weird for me (the micromanagment king). I hope you guys don't mind, but I'm turning some of them off. Rome built university and Thermopylae a cavalry. Disbanded 2 swordsman.

2. 1665 - Peace with english, no tributes as I didn't want to upset them yet. WLTKD celebrated all over Greece. People are in love with their new ruler Pggar I.

3. 1670 - Isaac Newtonpoulus has come up with a great theory, and we are not allowed to float anymore because we discovered gravity. Now some scientists are working in a new kind of power that according to them can perform wonders (Steam Power). Our historians say we've entered a new age and we masterd the secret of Nationalism. Changed Athens production to Newtonpoulus' University, Wall Street can wait. Disbanded 2 sordsman.

4. 1675 - The iroquois got us. They now receive (ivory+gems+11/turn) to their incense. This is still the most cheap deal we can get since Americans and Germans don't wanna sell their luxuries for less than 30/turn and techs. We have completed Newtonpoulus' University in Athens. CornEmpire and Miletos people finished marketplaces and are happy now. Azteck warrior diplomatically removed from our territory.

6. 1685 - Delphi and Halicarnassus built aqueducts.

7. 1690 - Price of english furs increased by 13gold/turn.

10. 1705 - Cities built things.

14. 1725 - We now know the secret of Steam Power. Going for Industrialization (10 turns). Thermopylae and Veii finished granaries.

15. 1730 - We have lots of coal in our borders. Finished my turn.

List of cities where the governor was turned off: Knossos, Halicarnassus, Miletos, CornEmpire, Athens, Delphi, Neapolis, Veii.

Summary

- Finished with treasure at 3.5.2. If you want to lessen the entertainment tax, be aware of the fact that cities will come out of WLTKD, and production will be lost. I think if we get another luxurie we can drop the tax by 10% without problems, but the luxuries prices are very high. I think I'm kind of responsible for that. :D
- Our army is concentrated in Neapolis, but there are cavalries in strategic cities to prevent any adversity.
- Our new worker project should be the railroad net.
- After Industrialization is done, I would go for Scientific Method for those free technologies.
- Remember that banks, marketplaces and harbors are free of charge, so build them if you have the chance.

That's it. Here's the file.

Up next - Ohwell

Thank you for killing some governors. :goodjob:
In later games I turned that off from the begining.

I performed an end of turn review before starting. Cancel all of the mining by Athens. Electricy soon, so why waste our time mining. Cancel work near Thermopylae as the city can't use it. I killed some military building in cities without barracks. Switch Cornith from granary to calvary, as the city maxes out at 10.

1750 - A lousy 722 gold, but we are the wealthiest nation.

1752 - I missed one. Granary in sparta built. Won't matter until electricity.

1754 - New trade deal with England. Offer the luxuries SEPERATE and get more per turn, plus $140.

1756 - New trade deal with America. Again, seperated the luxuries. Gives us more control. The only deal I plan not to touch is the Aztec deal. That one is just to good.

1758 - Electricty research begins, with Medicine, then Scientific method. I am dying to irragate Sparta.

1760 - I start library in Rhodes. Defense against culture flip, and maybe we can get Norwich. I pick up a few bucks from map selling.

1762 - The Mutual pacts begin - Iroquis and England.

1768 - WAR. Aztecs versus the Germans. Why I avoid Mutual Protection pacts. Wall street on line. Micro-manage Herakleia to make a factory worthwhile. We lost furs.

1772 - Iroquis declare war on the Germans. English declare war on the Germans.

1776 - The Aztecs offer Mutual Protection, and I tell them to pound sand. I have no interest in seeing Germany die.

1782 - My final act gives the Greeks Electricity, researching Medicine with goal of Scientific Method.

-----------------------

Goals.
Keep cash above 1000 to take advantage of wall street.

WATCH starting any war very carefully. Mutual protection pacts in place.

Watch our workers - some of them may be on automate :(

I shut down some more city governors. I don't know if I got them all.

You will get the game with Electricity ready. Irragate Sparta, Athens, and Ravenna. These are low corruption cities that will appreciate the boast in size. They may very well turn out to be builers of space ship parts.

I am working toward a large amount of factories. Keep the railnet building.

We have a clear path to winning - Space Race :) We are ahead of the world in science. #1 goal - Scientific method and start the wonder.

Universal suffrage queued up in Thermopylae. If war happens, it will be nice. I am concentrating on improvements near that city. German started this, so this must be done. They just got industrialization, so we should be them with a factory.

Keep our hugh science lead. Nothing, not even luxuries, is worth giving it up. This is a space race game, and tech lead is the key

EDIT: Out of date attachment deleted.

BEHOLD! The reign of Lord of Hammers has begun! It shall end in 1800 AD!

1790- After a breakdown in negotiations with Great Britain, The bloody English declared war! Talks with Germany have given us a mutual protection pact with them.

1792- England, following suit, Asked the Iroquois and Aztecs to help them, we have a catastrophe! But all was not lost. Liverpool was captured, giving us 2 workers along with it.

1796- Rome had a embargo against us, but they had nothing to trade anyway, they are so puny...

17980- Got America on our side also, but our people are getting angry because we lost many luxuries from the enemy.

1800- Lord of Hammers has commited suicide, because he did not want to take on responsibility for the country in a time as dire as now.

-ALERT! WORLD HAS EXPLODED IN WAR! POPULACE IS ANGRY! REVOLT IMMINENT!

- Though the war is bad, and our people are revolting, we are still ahead in tech.

-ALL IS LOST!!!

Dammit! Here is the frieken file

Damn it! I wish it was my turn. Why the suicide anyway? Is this WW1?

:sniper: [plasma] :rocket3: :rocket: WAR!!!!

What the ????? happened with England?

I was worried something like this might happen in the future, and why I was upgrading to rifleman. I didn't think this soon. :(

We need allies. Figure out how to get the rest of the world on our size.

Cancel all irragation and mining! A rail net is our best chance to save this game, and give us reaction time to any attacks.

Up next - Nanook If you want to skip, I will understand.

CRITICAL - Wake all of the Calvary in Cumae, and get them to a more central location.

Pggar - Why in the world would you want this mess? We went from a clear space win to a possible loss.

This sucks big time.

Come on! World Wars are probably the best part of this game. We're ahead in technology, but we have to come out of this war soon. Also, if we play it right we can get some of money, maybe a leader, and no more outsiders cities in our continents. The railnet will be the most important part of this war.
