3. Never build a Nuclear Power Plant, have Coal Plants in every city and cause severe global warming on x tiles by 2020

I got that, but where's the pun?

Germany is one of the countries with the greatest amount of green energy in the world  And I happen to know some countries which are 'contributing' way more heavily to global warming...

Anyways, back on the topic -> Could launching a space ship be an UHV requirement for one of the more advanced nations?

Perhaps yes, but that doesn't mean that the decision I am referring to won't have very damaging effects on other countries as well. It is quite pure populism..
If you don't know about the issue, I suggest that you read the article.

Not really, that's the space race victory minus the wait time essentially.

Yeah, but at least it would be more fun than finishing the tech tree. It would also require more effort.

Actually it could be: Be the first to launch a spaceship.

Fry and Laurie (my favorite show) invented that I think.

I'd still say Combustion, Fission, Rocketry are a good Tech trio for Prussia/Germany instead of "be the first to finish the Tech Tree". Think of the people who actually helped invent those Techs IRL:

Otto, Daimler, Benz, Diesel, Wankel, Zeppelin, von Braun, Einstein, Geiger, Born, Sommerfeld, Heisenberg, Hahn, ...

Germans, the whole lot of them.

Which is why IMO the GP settling goal for Prussia should be changed to be limited to Great Scientists (Academies count)/Artists/Prophets.

The idea is that German mathematicians/composers/philosophers (I can provide even longer lists here) are represented by the GP settling goal; The German physicists/engineers are represented by the Tech goal; The German military scientists/generals are represented by the expansion goal (and the Brandenburg Gate Wonder which is designed to be built by Prussia).

3 groups of German GPs, 3 different UHVs. How about it?

Oh and btw I don't like settled GGs. Military Academy/unit leader GGs are both more effective IMO.

 I love A Bit of Fry and Laurie. "The chaps like it sir, if you excuse the pun."
And yeah, I agree with everything SignIn said, except the last opinion. Settled GGs are amazing in a town with high production.

Fry and Laurie :goodjob:

I usually play civs who are tech leaders with multiple towns of high :hammers: (China, England, Russia, America, and even Prussia). I'd prefer 3 Military Academies in Berlin, Wien, and Frankfurt, over 3 settled GGs in Wien alone, because my Panzers will crush Russian Muskets/Rifles regardless of whether they start with 5 XP (2 Promotions) or 11 XP (3 Promotions). The only thing I need to worry about is to field a sufficient number of them in a sufficiently short time in order to mop up the AI's large but weak stacks quickly enough.

Also, when you upgrade a unit (say from Rifleman to Infantry), their XP gets reset to 10 if they were above 10 before (unless they are GGs). Which is why I try to keep my units' XP around 9 or so, making settled GGs even less useful for me. This is especially obvious with the Prussian UP, and their mass upgrades of Rifles => Infantry (you should mass Rifles right before Assembly Line to maximize your UP's impact).

I use a similar strategy for Japan. I mass samurai (Hemeji Palace + Samurai), so that leaves me with 4 bonuses (city garrison, drill, and 2 of my choice). When I upgrade to riflemen, they keep the bonuses.

The UN vote 'single currency' shows the age of the core game and would not really be considered anything close to a positive today in light of the Euro crisis. I'm not sure what to replace it with but someone else might have a suggestion.

It allows for more trade, which is still true. Monetary policy and trade balances are not modeled by Civ.

Leoreth, I suggest you give the Caravanserai a little buff with the Glassmaker in game now. What about +1:commerce: on plains villages/hamlets/towns/cottages? Or more happiness with Cotton?

And the glassmaker isn't the UB of the Phoenicians in my game yet, although it's already in the game.

You can't actually be suggesting that two civs shouldn't have an identical UB except that one is better in every way.

I'm going to guess you're running VD, check the Phoenicia thread.
