Sullla's *SPOILER* GOTM8

You continue to increase the score's increase/turn because at the very beginning of the game you had a very small amount of territory and pop. Thus when you have tons of cities and happy people you continue to bring up this AVERAGE. After you have been at max pop/territory, the average starts to catch up and that's why you still gain points, but the amount of the increase drops.
Totally explains my question. Thanks.

Ideally, though, the scoring algorthim should be a configurable game option - it could make for strange and original game play in tournaments. That would appeal to me.

Leaders, leaders - everyone is jealous of the leaders. I did get a total of 15 in the game. :)

But it wasn't due to luck. I didn't get any leaders in my first war against Russia, when the leader would have been most effective. I always used them right away so I would have the chance of getting another, used the second one for an army, and the third one for the Heroic Epic. With all of the elites I had from being militaristic, and all of the battles I was fighting, it really wasn't luck at all, just going by what the averages would predice. Against Japan I got 5 leaders in 3 turns - but I fought over 250 battles in those 3 turns, so it really wasn't a case of dumb luck. And why shouldn't I rush a temple or a settler with a leader; all wonders were built that I needed, all cities on wealth or panzers, and the game utterly over. It felt like an Always War game for a little while, where I had to use the leader right away so that I could get another on the same turn. And yes, I also would have killed for some of those leaders in my other games. :goodjob:
