This (monument 19) comes to us from LaVenta in Mexico and dates to pre-classic Olmec, notice the bag-like device in his hand...

The 3 images at top show a similar looking 'bag' in the hands of these deities

The Sumerian God Ea

What do you think? Why do these deities from both the old and new worlds have a bag-looking device in one hand? What are they holding? A show I'm watching now suggested the bag might be an environmental device for spacesuits similar to what astronauts can be seen carrying like these guys.

I have some items that are remarkably like those. It's uncanny, how similar they are.

They're called "handbags", aka purses.

These creatures were probably just out doing the grocery shopping.

very interesting indeed...I am no expert on the topic but doesn’t the guys headdress look like a little like some sort of space helmet?....also, the winged snake is supposed to represent a flying craft of some type......cant help but also notice that the tail of the snake looks like a delicious soft serve ice cream cone

Edit: also, the guy seems to be sitting inside the snake, as if he is piloting the thing....

Edit 2: or he is reaching for that delicious cone...

Oh, for crying out loud! It looks like somebody holding a purse and they're about to buy a sweater.

Clearly, this is a story about a trip to the local mall.

Dont start licking that ice cream cone, those might be the snake's rattles... But I think thats Quetzalcoatl, the image below the snake's head are 2 Quetzal birds. Now I dont know if thats Quetzalcoatl the serpent or as the man 'piloting' the serpent.

he is depicted in an odd position, as if in a cramped space, back is all bent....

If you go to the website advocating this theory: http://www.atlantisbolivia.org/atlantisboliviapart2.htm and read his evidence for it based on the Plato's description of the city of Atlantis, it becomes clear very quickly that the author is full of crap. There are lots of things wrong with his theory, but his choice of location in Bolivia is beyond reason.

OK. I'm convinced. I've examined the evidence and I totally believe all of this. Handbags and everything.

Now, about my scheme to build cars out of earwax...

I've a really good feeling about this project.

Can I interest any of you budding venture capitalists in a prospectus?

wait...is there more money in the car business? i was under the impression that the money was in the deliciousness? ....perhaps earwax soft serve?

Double your pleasure, my friend. You can both drive and enjoy the delicious vanilla flavour of this earwax (patent pending) at the same time.

And now, to return to the topic, I'm sure the alert people that you are will have realized the purpose of those handbags (both Sumerian and New World): temporary storage of the earwax awaiting manufacture into motorcars.

I am now quite concerned that your greed and increased production will only decrease the quality of the product :undecide:

Edit: you are already changing from pistachio to vanilla..

Well, there's only one way to find out.

Do you fancy a taste or a test-drive?

In this case test drive would probably be much safer

This is proof

This would be proof that the earth was at one time flat? As the "pancake" was being folded into a "ball", the continents were being pulled apart from the single continent. The sea peoples being the last migration back, until the northern wanderings on either side sent groups into both western and eastern North America. The last sea people would be the polonesians.

Mayans in the old world is more feasible. Even the plots of bad movies like Wayne's World or Water World are more believable.

There must be a connection. What are the odds that people in two such widely separated cultures would both, independently, carry things?
