Surgery

Only surgery I've had was when I managed to snap both bones in my left arm. They went in there to put the bones back in place and generally clean out all the dirt I managed to get in there probably.

I was young (13) and all I really remember that applies is the awesomeness of opiates, and that not eating for 2 days or so, and then starting again = throwing up. Your nurse will probably warn you about that one, just like she tried to warn me. Damn ice cream and jello, so tempting.

I had surgery to remove adenoids, it was a no biggie, went in, got sedated, waked up, got back home the same day.

Though I later heard stories from my mom how I raised hell while recovering from the sedation, and also collapsing on the floor when I tryed to go to the bathroom, I don't even remember that.

I had a laminectomy about 14 years ago.

They got me out of bed and walking around the very next day, dosed to the eyeballs on painkillers. Certainly no lounging about in bed from then on for me. They used to use bed rest but said they found they had fewer other problems and a quicker recovery if you keep mobile. The reflexes in my leg had returned by the next day and the leg pain was very slight compared to what it had been. It was amazing to actually be able to put one foot in front of the other and walk properly after several months of only being able to walk slowly, hunched over and not being able to move one leg past the centre line of my body.

I still have pain in my leg now but it is manageable, I did have problems 4 years ago when scarring from the operation caused a recurrence of the symptoms, but that tore free from the nerve by itself so I didn't have to have another op.

I recently had a biopsy done on my kidney and I had to rest for five hours before I could move, but after that I was able to move and only had some slight pain in the area in my back for a few days after that. I was discharged that same day, so it was something really minor compared to what you need to get done.

What was the biopsy for ?

I recently had surgery on both of my knees, and will be having another one in mid June. It was simple scope procedure though...they knocked me out, cut out some damaged soft tissue, and that was it. I was walking alright after a few days, and now i'm playing basketball and Frisbee with athletic braces.

Hopefully, by this summer, I'll be back to normally, athletically.

I've been through several surgeries, I actually grew up thinking they were normal. :p

Mostly for my teeth.. had first surgery when I was 2 or 3... I smashed my teeth on a table

I really do not want to admit this but when I didn't get circumcised until I was 7... only surgery I've had
