Last time I had to write this note I wrote of a conflict in the Sweden, and hoped that under Russian rule there would be some return to stability. Now I see that this is not the case. The Allies of Germany, France and Russia find themselves at war with a Coalition of Canarians, Agontrov and Italians. A colossal war has broken out in Europe and already many causalities have been suffered. The mighty navies of these nations have clashed in battle on the high seas and the armies arrayed against each other in the Low Countries and in the South of France throw soldiers at each other. I do not like to hope for too much but I do hope that an end will come to this conflict sooner rather than later.

Belgium Invaded by Germany
Following the declaration of war between the Allies of Germany, France and Russia against the United Agontrov Clans a swift invasion of the Belgian lands was conducted by the German military. Though the Clans had received instructions to conduct a conscription of all able bodied people to aid in the effort the speed of the initial German advance meant that at least in Belgium the Agontrov were not able to muster a significant defence quickly enough. Clan Geest was totally overwhelmed however the warriors of Lutin managed to fall back into Chaddoq territory where along with the Chaddoq and British reinforcements they have dug in and the invasion's progress has been halted.
Battle of Noordhinder
The Republic of the Canarias and Madeira, ever famous for its significant navy, set sail with two significant task forces at the outbreak of the war. One sought to cut off the Russian invasion of Scotland and the other to block any channel crossings. The Second of these squadrons was quick to find the combined Franco-German Joint Fleet off the coast of the Netherlands.
The Allies first spotted the Canarian squadron on the morning of the 12th March from the coast of Normandy and word was quickly sent to the Joint Fleet. Fleet Admiral Aliénor Germain, the Commander of the Join Fleet order the fleet to maximum readiness at 12 Noon and by 13:40 the fleet was underway out of the Heligoland Bight to intercept the Canarian force. At 16:20 the first Canarain ship was sighted at the Noordhinder bank by the Destroyer
Jovialité - it was a heavy cruiser and flagship of the Canarian second squadron, commanded by Admiral Óscar Doreste. The two fleets began to close range both looking for a fight. As soon as range was reached the cruisers of both navies opened fire and the first hit scored was by the Canarian cruiser

Feierlichkeit. Though the exchange continued for several hours the fleets never closed the range too far and no substantial damage was caused to either side.
Neither Doreste nor Germain wanted to force the issue fearing a large scale fleet engagement would result in significant losses. The Joint Fleet finally positioned itself squarely between the Canarian Squadron and Margate and eventually Doreste ordered the fleet to turn around and sail up the Solent instead choosing to berth his fleet at Southampton and Portsmouth. Though German and French media continue to push the idea that the engagement was a tactical victory for the Joint Fleet the presence of Doreste's squadron is thought to have scuppered plans for an Allied invasion of the British Isles.
The Cromatry Blockade
The Russian Navy began its descent upon the United Kingdom from their naval bases in Denmark as soon as the war had been declared. A large fleet of Warships escorted the invasion across the North Sea and into Scotland. A beachhead was established by the Russian military at Dundee and the Tsarina's armies swiftly descended on the lands of Northern Scotland. However after three days of brisk advance through Scotland central command at Dundee received intelligence reports including sightings made by the French navy of a large Naval Squadron moving north past the Sole Bank. Fearing that the sighted group was in fact the navy of the Canarias & Madeira the Imperial fleet made way southwards to join the combined Franco-German Joint Fleet in Cuxhaven.
Following this withdrawal the predicted naval squadron did arrive and set out to blockade the supply lines of the now stranded Russian army. Despite the fact that the Russian forces face little resistance on the mainland the advance has been all but stopped as they remain cut off from the rest of the allied forces.
French Efforts in War do Not Meet Public's Expectations
The Orléaniste Government and media had made much of the righteousness of their own crusade and that through said righteousness they would overcome easily the forces of Clan Chaddoq who hold land that Orléans considered to be rightfully French. The armies of Orléans left their homes as heroes marching off to fight a holy war. There was much parading and throwing of flowers and the atmosphere in the streets was one of hope and overwhelming support for the war. However in the first week of the war the French armies met with two disastrous defeats. In the Battle of Le Boisle the French forces were repulsed time and time again by the Chaddoq as they attempted to cross the Authie and in southern France they were unable to stop the Italian advance and were pushed back all the way to the Rhone.
The French public is becoming increasingly concerned with the repeated military failures and undelivered promises of victory. The only good news has been had is that which has been manufactured following the Battle of Noordhinder. Some are resigned to the realisation that this war may last a lot longer than they initial thought, others claim that it shows the government has strayed from the righteous path. Whatever the case is, Orléans may face more internal problems soon unless it can begin to make some visible victories.
Maracaibo on the Move
As the Brazilian Army began to cross the mountains into the Maracaibo basin the armoured convoys of Maracaibo found that they were no longer able to hold off the advances made against them. They Mayor called together a meeting of the City Council to decide what to do. The councillors for all the suburb-convoys were in attendance and debate raged for hours. Also invited to the discussion were the observers from the People's Uriankhai Khaganate. Eventually the Mayor used his executive powers to call for total mobilisation of the means of production and that they city should make an exodus from the basin in which it was born in order to escape the invaders. The city and all its suburbs conducted a mass mobilisation and set themselves off north and west through the Guajira desert. The mobilisation of this city represents one of the greatest achievements of the tractionist movement in recent years and with the continued spreading of Uriankhai influence throughout the world many doubt if this will be the last time we see the means of production mobilised on such a scale.
The invaders managed to quickly occupy the remain areas claiming any remaining industrial areas and the precious oil reserves. CCC industrialists were quick to secure access to the reserves. Despite the continued efforts of the Brazilian government to have its economy not be reliant on trade with the CCC this source of fuels is firmly in the CCC's hands and the join Llanos-Brazillian force is left with the slim picking of what was left behind.

Australian Military Stamps out the Last Bastions of Bushrangers on the Mainland
A Military Action undertaken by the Australian Military has once and for all eliminated the presence of powerful organised crime operating out of the Australian bush. Many of the fleeing criminals have escaped to the Temasek lands where, though folk heroes of the Australasian Public, they seek to quietly integrate into this new culture and enjoy the freedoms it affords.
Pakistan Faces Criticism from Japanese Anime Historian
The Government of Pakistan, led by a figure calling himself Dio, has fallen under a barrage of criticism after a Japanese Historian specialising in the Japanese television style of Anime. He claims that a 2010s anime based on a long running manga series called
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is in fact the base of Pakistani ideology. Many of the names and symbols used by the Pakistani regime are lifted directly from the anime, he asserts, and there is no validity to the claims of the Pakistani leader that he is in fact some sort of god.
Many communities internationally have agreed with the Historian's interpretation of the evidence and study of the manga and anime has become popular among scholars of international relations looking to see what the next move for the Pakistani state might be.
Relationship Thaw Between Fort Hope and Canada
It is reported in both Canadian news and the Fort Hope Bulletin that a relationship thaw is occurring in northern Canada. Tensions between the mutants of Fort Hope and the Canadian government had been strong due to the border and security concerns however Canadian diplomats have reportedly reached out to Fort Hope in order to see if it is possible to formalise relations and ensure a mutual beneficial relationship between the two neighbours for the foreseeable future.
Uriankhai influence in Fort Hope remains strong though and many of the mutants there are already holding nomadic sympathies after the long journey from Canada to Fort Hope. As to whether the Uriankhai diplomats will lean on Fort Hope to do anything yet remains to be seen.
