Defiant Georgians Declare Sovereign Republic Outside of Turkish borders
Following a number of controversial plebiscites in Georgia the majority of the country decided to join with the Turkish Republic of Turkey in often largely popular local votes. However one state in the region - Adjara - rejected the very notion having a plebiscite and in the months following the integration of Georgia into Turkey it has declared itself as the only state truly representing the Georgian peoples.
The declaration of the Republic of Adjara and its promise to uphold traditional Georgian Orthodox values in the face of Turkish imperialism has resonated with many Georgians and a large number have flocked to the fledgling state seeking a life outside of Turkish influence.

French Theologian Questions Whether the British Have Souls
Gabriel Racine, prominent French Theologian, made a declaration of his dislike for the government's continued dealings with the Agontrov. He expressed concern that the government might want to place what he called monsters on the same level as those who are pure humans. In his treatise laying out these views his main point of argument was the point of continuing debate among the theological community regarding the soul and if non-humans are capable of salvation. Some say this is nonsense and just a rehash of the
Do Dogs Go to Heaven question but blown out of proportion, other say that it is key to understanding how France is to interact with not just the Agontrov but also the nations in Sweden and India who have also given up their government to soulless entities.
Conflict Continues in Venezuela
The war has continued for the Maracaibo oil reserves but as of yet no decisive battles have been fought. The less mobile Industrial Suburbs of Maracaibo have been caught out on occasions by Llanos raiders from the mountains however the raiders seem unable to make significant gains against the heavily armed convoys that form the bases of power for Maracaibo. Meanwhile Maracaibo has been training its own strike force under the instruction of military advisers from the PUK. Similarly the Llanos industrial league has received considerable support from the Caribbean Corporate Consortium.
A New Port In the Caribbean
Santiago has long been a centre of trade and power in the Americas but with the latest project of expansion things just keep looking up in the region. Trade and commerce are projected to begin flowing through the city soon and the construction work is already attracting large amounts of investment.
[2 dp needed for the next 2 turns to be spent on construction, bonus of 1 Economic Point per turn while economic dominance lasts]
Swedish Fears over Russian Military Buildup
The Russian Monarchy has continued to build up its armed forces and with its recently acquired border with Stockholm the people of that nation are becoming rather afraid of the Russian might at their door. After asking their AI leader for advice despite it still being in the testing phase the people of Stockholm have decided to approach the Russian government and others looking for a guarantee of continued independence.
[Any Nations can choose to guarantee the independence of Stockholm gaining 1 influence point with them]
Australia Faces Bushranger Crisis
Though the glory days of the bushranger are now centuries past their legacy has always been there in the Australian mindset. Following the Christmas Plague and the resulting erosion of Government authority the romantic ideal of the bushranger started to climb to new heights in Australian culture. Over the last couple of months there has been a notable increase in the number of men and women moving on from their lives in the cities to travel the path of crime.
Those in the Labour opposition blame the Government for being too caught up in policy to realise that their authority was in a steep decline.
[Australia and New Guinea counts as having 3 Less Provinces until the issue is dealt with]
More Cult Activity Unearthed in California
The Septine cult has clearly had a significant grip on the west coast of America for some time now. As the Second Directive forces began to enter the cities it was not uncommon to see the image of the seven pointed star as graffiti on the walls of areas thought to be deserted. The cult seems to be actively practising in some of the coastal settlements and many of the cult leaders in this region seem to have originated in Nouméa.
Meanwhile in Utah 3 more killings have been reported and the culprits as of yet have not been brought to justice.
Roman Engineers Present New Frigate Design for Government Approval
The new design based heavily of the preceding FREMM Bergamini class has been submitted for approval by the Roman Bureau of Shipbuilding. Boasting exceptional anti-submarine warfare and a powerful anti-air suite it is thought to be much more powerful than the Bergamini class.
The majority of nations since the plague haven't invested heavily in naval design and many are using ships that area several decades old. This hasn't really been much of an issue as the low relative population to the world before the Plague has left a large number of highly advanced ships unused and thus available. However this change in paradigm by the Italian navy is making commentators think that perhaps Italy could arise as a new naval power with a significant Blue Water navy to ensure it can easily project power across the globe.
[Rome can commission the new ship type into the navy at a cost of 3 dp for the next four turns. Doing so will give you 2 bonus dp for the next two turns to spend on influencing coastal nations]
