Takeo takes on Deity

I just read through the entire thread, and I must say, good work. I must see how you finish of Hammy.

@tupaclives & SuperBeaverInc.- Thanks, shortly I will have the entire war with Russia updated.

The Russian Campaign
1500-1610 A.D.

Operation: Flyswat
Russia began the game with a really poor starting position and ended up with just a handful of cities. With being so busy with Babylon and Japan, only 1 army(of modern armor) was delegated to take on these few cities. Catherine's army consists of 6 tow infantry, around 15 riflemen and 10 longbowmen. The MA army landed ashore in 1500 and the attack commenced the next turn.
435-st_peters_raz.JPG

A few Russian riflemen tried to reinforce St. Petersburg, but were too late! The transport entered the city, picked up the army and dropped it right next to Moscow. It looked like this was going to be easy.

The first tow infantry in Moscow fell easily. The second fought tenaciously and reduced the army to 3 health pts. The wounded and embarrased army limped to a hill to heal.
437-ma_retreats.JPG

This was a very inauspicious beginning to the campaign!

After healing, the army bypassed Moscow and headed straight for Krasnoyarsk, and Novgorad after that.
457-russia_isle.JPG

With the capture of Novgorad, the Russian military was finally showing up in force. Was Catherine getting worried and desperate. You know, you really should keep all your units in your cities, to protect them better!
468-novgorad.JPG

Yaroslavl' is the next city to fall. The French army heads for Moscow, thinking that is all that's left. But, Russia has retaken Yekaterinbug from China and has also settled two new cities.
483-russia_1565.JPG

The army heads for the newly settled Khabarovsk, pillaging roads along the way. Khabarovsk is left open after capture and Russian units head slowly for it, thru un-roaded territory. Before it can be retaken by Russia, it is abandoned and my army is now sitting next to Moscow. Heehee! Moscow is taken without hitch, this time.
501-moscow_capt.JPG

Many Russian units are just milling around, out in the open.

The Russian capital switches to Bryansk and then Yekaterinburg. Both cities are taken easily, with all the Russian forces just wandering around aimlessly. Are they confused, or is it just too cold in tundra territory?
505-russia_destroyed.JPG

Catherine is left to freeze in her tundra 'home', any shelters she had have been razed to the ground.

The Babylonian Campaign
1540-1585 A.D.

No oil and your empire crumbles
All Hammurabi can do is sit, and watch his empire disappear. Tow infantry can be a pain, but are easily overwhelmed. With over 20 MA armies, there is always fresh armies to attack with. The rest of the Babylon isle is plundered and destroyed.

baba-bot.JPG

Dozens upon dozens of Babylonian tow infantry fell before the onslaught of French modern armor. Even with seeing all neighboring cities fall, one by one, the Babylonian defenders did not turn tail and run. Their 'fearless' leader, on the other hand, ran like a fraidy-cat! French spies witnessed Hammurabi entering New Hangchow, just before Chinese forces encircled the city.
493-china_blockign.JPG

Retribution unfulfilled
Chinese tanks and infantry nonchalantly block access to the city and then move in for the kill.
498-china_destroys_baba.JPG

Several skirmishes almost break out between Chinese and French forces, when they ask us to leave 'their' territory. French armies back off just far enough to satisfy the interlopers, but stay within sight of the city. What an insult! The French will not sit idly by, but will....ummm...we'll build giant inter-continental missles!

A few days later, the French embassy in Beijing sent home a picture, that was secretly taken in the Chinese dungeons.
hammy.JPG

Hammurabi is not dead, he is a Chinese prisoner. That cell will soon be an oven.

Scientific Breakthru
Another milestone has been reached in the science arena.
492-sf.JPG

The original plan was to build tactical nuclear missles and nuclear subs to carry them. The French people are up in arms about the Chinese interference, so research is set towards Satellites. That way really, really large missles can be constructed.

Operation: Katana comes to an end
Tokugawa foolishly had his troops clear the beach, on his island. A French tank army lands, before he can change his mind, and heads straight for Tokugawa's fortress.
506-japan_destroyed.JPG

Tokugawa ends up taking out a few soldiers himself. Only because they were under orders to capture the Japanese leader, and not to kill him. There are plans under way to strap him to the first ICBM fired towards Beijing. Looks like Tokugawa took a few rifle butts to the head, before going down.

Hurray! Update! So is your plan to just nuke the entire chinese empire into the ground n then waltz straight through or will it just be 'strategic' nukings ;).

Nice touch with the pic of the old babylonian lands!

I can't wait for the shower of nukes

Oh, mz internet conection doesnţt work, and I have to recover again everzthing, and read all the stories that continued in the time I couldnţt check them.

Great Job, Takeo.

1610-1660 A.D.

Wonders and Research
In 1610, Orleans has completed work on the Manhattan Project. Almost all cities in the core begin work or switch to tactical nuclear missles.
503-manhattan.JPG

One turn later the ability to build ICBM's comes online and all work on tactical missles is switched to ICBM's.
504-satellites.JPG

Research is set to Amphibious Warfare, cause China has a 1-tile island city that will require marines to take down.

In 1660, China completes construction on the United Nations. This will really do them a lot of good, since France is the only other nation in the world!
507-un.JPG

The Chinese Campaign
Operation: Nuclear Storm
As of 1660, there are 19 ICBM's ready, polished and waiting for the order to fire. Enough to decimate the Chinese countryside and hopefully cleanse it of most of the enemy soldiers.
508-icbms_waiting.JPG

Mao is dialed up and given a straightforward declaration of war. If I remember right, this is only the second time that France has declared war during this game.
509-war_declared_on_china.JPG

Of course, the first ICBM was already in the air.:mischief:

511-beijing_targetted.JPG

Paris initiates the barrage of missles with a special ICBM; one with Tokugawa tied to it's side. Moments later, Mao and the citizens of Beijing, witness firsthand the heat of a nuclear inferno.

A French spy volunteers to go into Beijing and report back on the devastation.

514-beijing_investig.JPG

The information he brings back about the destruction is astounding. Half of the population of the city is dead, no roads or infrastructure left standing and the garrison is almost non-existant.

 I love nukes

The Chinese Campaign
1660-1685 A.D.

No one is spared
The spectacular results of the missle strike on Beijing has caused someone to take matters into their own hands. Without any direct orders, a barrage of ten more ICBM's are launched towards the Chinese isle.
517-canton.JPG

All these cities were to be targetted anyway, but hitting them right before any French armies arrived would have been more prudent. Now any surviving Chinese soldiers will have a chance to heal.

Before the dust has a chance to settle, French armies begin to land on the Chinese shore.
528-dropoff.JPG

Fourteen MA armies and a few tow infantry stand on the shore in awe, watching the smoke pour from Chinan. The Chinese city, and many others in the distance, look like giant furnaces with thick black smoke slowly rising into the sky. Any defenders that are left should be in massive shock, from the death and devastation.

The assault begins in 1665, and the meager Chinese defense is an overstatement.
529-china_att_1665.JPG

530-china_att_1670.JPG

In 1675, two minor stacks of doom are happened upon, near Nanking. There are about a half-dozen cities on the isle that were not nuked. These intact cities must have sent part of their garrisons to protect Nanking. As to why Nanking is so important vs. other cities is a mystery.
533-china_sod.JPG

An ICBM is lobbed their way to soften them up a bit.:nuke:
534-sod_nuke.JPG

Not much left, is there? The Chinese reinforcements are shattered, just short of being eradicated outright.

The assault continues practically unopposed.
535-china_att_1675.JPG

537-china_att_1680.JPG

In the above picture a galleon has been rushed in Nanking. In 1685 the galleon shuttles over a few modern armor to raze New Nanking.

China has been reduced to a 1-tile island and marines are now headed that way!
