1465-1475 A.D.
Babylon becomes hostile
Without warning, during the interturn of 1465 A.D., a Babylonian destroyer attacks my submarine which is sitting right outside their territory.
The sub is destroyed and they go on to sink a second sub, kill 9 cavalry and capture 2 workers. Fortress:Wine is attacked by 14 bombers and the civil defense is destroyed. There are several flak cannons located in the city and they shoot down 5 of the 14 bombers.
Was wondering if their destroyer just accidentally moved into my sub or if it was intentional. Then, three destroyers and a transport head towards France's western shore. Definately know Babylon's intentions now. The first thing I do is send this small force to the bottom.
Well, I wasn't ready for this. There are still 3 turns till Synthetic Fibers comes in and then another 5 turns for Amphibious Warfare. Would need several turns after that to bring in gold, upgrade everything and move all units into position. Had intended to initiate(or complete) all four objectives, in the assault plan, on the same turn.
For right now, this is what I'm gonna do-
1) Research will continue till Synthetic Fibers comes in, then will be turned off to generate cash. With access to modern armor, units will then be launched towards objectives 2 and 3.
2) Objective 1 can still be carried out. A carrier will be loaded with bombers, sent off and should be in range of Babylon's oil next turn.
3) Objective 4 can be started on immediately. All armies on the super-continent will eradicate Babylon's presence there.
A loaded carrier, with protective fleet, is dispatched towards Babylon's oil fields.
France strikes back
It takes 3 turns to raze all of Babylon's cities off of the super-continent and complete objective 4. There are still around 25 Babylonian units roaming around; consisting of infantry, tow infantry, guerillas and tanks. These pests will be hunted down soon.
Here are the cities Babylon lost and a map showing their locations.
There were 13 bombers, caught on the ground refueling and were then destroyed, when some of these cities were razed. New Uruk(no. 11) has no defenders, cause French bombers destroyed them all.
Babylon's black gold
In 1470 A.D., bombers are within range of Babylon's lone source of oil and the connecting roads are destroyed. The fleet will stay here to bomb all the rest of the roads on the island.
Mao the oil baron
China has a source of oil on their home island and they also have an oil colony on the super-continent.
Japan has it's own source of oil, so Babylon is the only nation that China could trade their extra oil to. Can't let that happen! Need to get China into an alliance, so they won't trade. It is expensive, but Mao bites.
