Personally, I absoloutly hate playing the demoman. I cannot do any good with him at all. Any tips?

Do you like him just because he's Scottish? :mischief:

I love him because of the explosions. I did like the Meet the Demoman video though.

The demoman is also a class that takes very little skill to cause damage.

Course to do it right you sill need skill, there are several very good demoman players on my fav serv, which causes me no end of grief as an engie.

Which is my ultimate aim if I keep at TF2. At the moment I'm about 15% skill, 85% luck and splash damage with the demoman. He's good for taking out turrets and dispensers, mind.

I played an amazing game last night as the pyro, so may play with that class a bit more. I was rather delighted with myself and the amount of damage I was doing consistently. My best friend was on the opposing team as well, also as a pyro, made for a good nemesis. As I managed to axe him, I have full gloating rights until the next game :D

Anyone interested on playing a fed game some time when we try and get several people on one server? Probably best to pick some time in the evening (UK time), afternoon (US) at the weekend.

Sounds good to me. First, what's a fed game? When we pick a date, let me know and I'll post an event on the CFC Steam group. That way everybody will know.

Just checking; Did you join the steam group dell? If not, you definitley should.

Yeah I've joined the steam group. Another game that I play has mini communities based around different topics called feds so this is sort of like a TF fed.

I'm thinking that we could play on one the multiplay servers as they seem consistant unless someone wants to play on a specific server?

As a starting point would 8-10pm GMT be fine with everyone on Saturday.

I'm in, I just need to know the server.

I'd be interested, and Saturday is fine with me. The Multiplay servers are generally reliable. The Rock, Paper, Shotgun server may be a good alternative.

We should probably move discussion about the get-together to the CFC Steam Group thread as not to go off topic here. BTW Darth Pugwash I don't think you're in the group.

Demoman. Best class. Period.

Havent played it, even though I have The Orange Box and Garry's Mod detects and mounts Team Fortress 2 content :p.

I play with medic, I prefer to be offensive though, and nothing feels better as doing a tactic of attrition on your foes, the regenerating power, the speed, the fast reload, the large magazine and just the handle of it makes the blutsauger my weapon of choice.

I love to strafe heavies, pyro's and soldiers with my blutsauger and pick them off. Pyro's are easy to slaughter as battlemedic.

When I find some other medic who can ubersaw too (like lightfang, i hope your PC get's fixed soon D: you can cause some mayhem just for the fun of it.

in badwater basin i like to experiment with other classes though. engi on defense, heavy on offense.

all in all, i have played way more with the medic then with any other class, but i did play all the classes a bit just to feel how they are and what they do.

I love playing with the battlemedic tactic though, i don't know how other's feel about it, but i think the battlemedic is the culmination of everything you need to win.

You have high speed (second fasted in game)
you have a good offensive weapon
you can support your teammembers (duh)
you can even take out lv3 sentries if you have good aim and some patience.
and your melee reloads your ubercharge, adding in a possibility to have some mayhem.
you regenerate!

Battlemedics are natural born leaders, if handled by the right person.

I only play on the Cock and Balls server. Despite the name, it is a really good server although we'd rather not have anyone under 18 playing as there is 'mature' content sometimes.

Yes, I noticed some "interesting" sprays while playing on the CnB server. :mischief:

You havn't seen the worst, luckily though really 'bad' sprays are rare. Havn't seen one in quite a while. Actually it's a lot cleaner than it was two months ago.

What kind of fail pyros are you playing against?

Also I think my needleguns hate me. I never use them except if I get a chance to "pin" down an engie/sentry or know I have no choice but to try and hurt someone before I die.

I got 50 points this morning playing medic (I had 80 when I had to quit for breakfast, as I had been playing soldier) almost all from healing. I'm pretty good at healing as many people as I can while also sticking to someone if they need me.

.

the trick is to run while shooting and not bumping vs anything while running backward. (like a heavy D: )

the last game with lightfang there was this funny moment though, i was standing so close against an enemy demo it was like the needles were being directly inserted in his head, and the poor bugger couldn't move becuase he was stuck between me and the cart.

The pyro should hopefully have at least set you on fire then, and should have whipped out his shotgun.

Phil, if you're not getting killed by pyros as a medic, the pyros are bad. I've spent a lot of time as a pyro, and it is incredibly easy to maul offensive medics. All it takes is one weak flank and I'm in with the backburner destroying the other team.

Plus, medics have a tendancy to catch on fire and burn a lot faster than any other class I tend to encounter.

you are right, it's the smartest thing to do, well, it's at least better then aiming after a fast moving target with a flaregun.

well, in maps like 2fort you can pretty much avoid such ambushes and tackle those pyro's. how many i have encountered who try to cross the bridge and get maimed. :D

but you are right, vs a good pyro i don't stand a chance if he is the sneaky type.

I think a medic on fire is a bit cruel, you know, we regenerate a bit, but that makes me only more desperate in searching for a medkit before i drop dead.

having three seconds more of burning in agony, i think can make a medic frustrated

On 2Fort I generally don't cross the bridge or if its busy I'll just drop into the water. I generally use the flare gun rather than the shotgun as I think it annoys the opposition more even though it makes going in water much more dangerous.

I like to hang out near there doors and give them a light, or go through the sewers and try to get behind a wave of them, you usually die but people are scared by being just lit on fire for whatever reason.
