Tech support - how long should it take?

How long should I expect it to take for the official Civilization tech people to get back to me? I purchased Civilization over a week ago and it did not work. I went back and forth with them via e-mail and phone for a few days and nothing they did helped. So they said they were sending it up for second level support. I have not gotten any solution from them for a week, despite following-up with them a few times. I'm new at all this so am I crazy to expect they'll offer me a solution? Thanks for your responses!::eek:
 
Many of us have been waiting for much more than a week. I imagine you will have to wait for the next patch. It will be released soon, as we have been hearing for quite a while.
 
I called them twice back in January, and they said they'd send me an email with some instructions. It is now nearly April and I've never received anything from them.

I wouldn't hold your breath.
 
I wouldn't be at all optimistic of getting anything from tech support. If you do get anything it's likely to be a boilerplate set of standard things to try, none of which are likely to do anything.

If you post your system spec, and as much info on the problem as you can here, someone might be able to suggest something, and certainly in a shorter timespan than waiting for tech support.
 
I contacted tech support when I first purchased my copy of Civ IV, I was told in no uncertain terms that the game would NEVER play on my computer and was pretty rudely sent on my way.
I looked here in the forums and found all the answers I needed from other fans.
DON'T bother waiting for tech support, search the forums for your particular problems (or post about them) and make use of the very kind, very helpful members that are eager to help with other's tech problems! (There really are some Tech-Fu Senseis out here and they love to help :) )
