A lot of such games have, "joke units." Age of Empire 2 had a guy driving a '70's muscle car, and Age of Mythology had a flying hippomatamus.

Opps.. looks like I haven't checked in on this one in a while! Almost a year to the day in fact lol!

They took a break for a few months but then returned with a big update post covering all the improvements made since receiving feedback from their first demo last year..

They then released a new bigger demo with more missions including ones playing as the Tempest Dynasty faction.. however sadly it was only temporarily avaiable again..

Nearly 30 thousand people tried the demo which is good and thankfully they've released a full gameplay video of the demo for the rest of us to enjoy! This looks goooooood... I love the moody pre-mission cutscenes. The GDF one is at about 3:05 and the Tempest Dynasty one is at 28:50.

I was like: "Third alien faction? What are the other two?" :p

First off, since I've never properly said so, thank you Blake for taking the time not just to drop the stories but keep us updated on development—for Tempest Rising and the other games. :)

On the one hand, the gameplay I've seen is consolingly familiar, and they seem to have taken the early feedback about legibility to heart: the visual design feels a lot cleaner compared to the initial previews. In any other circumstance, this would have been an easy pickup... but setting aside a scathing review charging poor balance, a lacklustre campaign, and alleging they used AI-gen for the voices, there are multiple complaints concerning invasive telemetry that stomp over my privacy line.
