TENSEI

We are extremely disappointed that the referendum negotiations have fallen through. We once again urge both sides to attempt to come to a peaceful agreement. Regardless, we strongly recommed all UNE citizens currently in Tunisia to return to the UNE to avoid getting caught up in the conflict. We also state that we will not attempt to intervene militarily or otherwise, but we will continue to urge all parties involved to come to a peaceful solution to this conflict.

We are extremely disappointed with the blindness of UNE. We have already agreed to a free referendum and have allowed observers from all nations, even ones that have criticized us (like SUDS), to attend. We are not the ones obstructing the referendum.

The Sanctuary Republics will pledge to open their doors to all those in Tunisia who seek to escape the horrors of war. The state of war is a blight upon the human race and absolutely no one should be judged if they seek to avoid it.

If war erupts we request all our ideological comrades in Tunisia to do their duty in ensuring the protection of the people; this may include preparing to get refugees out to preparing medical centres. We will ourselves provide asylum, with Sardinia as a potential way-point for those fleeing the horrors of war and imperialism. Meanwhile our armed forces are requested to conduct drilling in case the conflict ends up threatening the S.U.D.S.

We will seek to conduct diplomatic linkage with the S.P.A. and Italy in hopes to stop the war.

Official Press Communique Regarding the Rogue State known to some as "Italy" and its unlawful occupation of Tunisia
Italy has deluded a depressing number of people into believing it has any right to Tunisia. It makes bold claims! and for who does it make these claims?
Not Tunisians, certainly not. Italy as a state is sleeping with the fascist menace, and we can only assume that a complete unlawful extermination of an entire populace is planned to make way for Italian colonization, as their "forefathers" did.
Because, fellow members of the Sahel Protection Alliance, fellow sane communities of the world, All Europe has is a past.
A past. The dead. The crumbled, the collapsed. Washed away by a sea of time. Clinging to glories, back when they could claim that one's head size was a natural indicator of leadership, when skin color was the true test of a government, not any actual capability.

What, then, does Africa have?

If we do not stand up to these imperialists who come, yet again, to Africa to enrich themselves and attempt to wipe away the culture of Africa, to replace it with their bastardization, to shoot our children for "slacking" in the mines and ask us why we aren't grateful, Africa has nothing.

But today, we invoke not the past. We may gaze upon Musa, we may gaze upon the Toucouleurs, we may gaze upon Morocco's past...
And we will find that our past is one of defeat.

Not one day longer.

The time has come for us to unite against this common foe. Moroccan or Serer, Soninke or Tuareg, we stand united knowing one thing.
We will not fearfully cling to the past because that is where our glories lie. We will take those glories, and improve upon them thousandfold.

We must emphasize, yet again, that this is for the well-being of Tunisians against potential fascism, which rears its ugly head all too often. As such, we will not, throughout this regrettable conflict, interfere with the movements of civilian Tunisians to neutral parties, such as the Sanctuary Republics. We also recommend those Tunisians thinking of fleeing to Italy or the Sahel Protection Alliance to flee to nearby neutral states instead, lest the war follow you.

So Muslims, pray in your mosques, Christians in your churches...
And may the deities have mercy on imperialists, for the Sahel Protection Alliance will not.

We declared a free referendum open to observers from all countries across the globe so that the Tunisian people could decide for themselves their future. We offered to let the people decide. Sahel, on the other hand, promotes far right extremism and ultranationalism and has declared war. It argues that Tunisians are oppressed and yet does not want them to vote in a free referendum. Why? Because they know that Tunisians are not really oppressed. We also laugh off their propaganda that we are in any way planning any massacre when we have offered to give citizenship rights and voting rights to all Tunisians.

I rest my case above for all the nations in the world to see who is on the right side and who is on the wrong. We want peace but we shall not bow to aggression: if Sahel invades, we shall defend our homeland.

Republic of Cyprus to help safegaurd civilians

Cyprus has chartered a few of its already existing troop and passenger ships to help transfer Tunisian Civilians out of the danger zone. they will transfer the civilians to the sanctuary republic, or to Cyprus, depending on where they want to go. the ships will be very clearly marked by the Cypriot flag https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Cyprus#/media/File:Flag_of_Cyprus.svg to avoid trouble.

Italy wants to thank the Sanctuary Republic, Cyprus, Bulgaria and SUDS for their commitment to humanitarian values. We shall do our best to help those who want to leave the war zone to do so.

Sahel has shown great gumption. Even though they are in the wrong, the leadership has stuck to their original guarantee. Should war occur, any Sahel soldier captured or slain by Imperial forces is guaranteed return to his commander, for burial or for retraining.

Other powers have failed to present as much resilience. This guarantee is granted only to Sahel.

Fashion in the Society
Spoiler :
masquerade_by_spectral_d.jpg

Anonymous, individualistic, faceless

Visitors to the Society may be surprised by the sheer prevalence of faceless masks, helmets, veils, robes, and other identity-concealing article of clothing in the Society. The origin of this seemingly strange tradition in the Society appears to date back to its origins in nuclear-devastated Korea and Japan, where a measure of face concealing masks became absolutely necessary for survival. Eventually, this necessity appears to have evolved into a tradition as the engineers and researchers within the Society continued to add functionality and convenience to the masks. A modern Society mask is a lightweight and highly advanced marvel of augmented reality interface, air conditioning, air purifying, and other forms of conveniences.

Society government, media, and the Cabal regularly interacts with individual Society members through the mask, sending alerts and warning messages to their HUD much like other nations may send alerts to their denizen's phones.

The augmented reality interface within the mask allows for a truly massive degree of customization options for its wearers and others who it shares the augmented reality with. As technology develops, the masks and helmets have also grown smaller in size, with the most high-end model being simply a veil worn around a person's eyes.

I hope that the leader of Scandinavia, being the representative of ideology which disparages internationalism as well as interventionism, realises the irony of espousing those very opposite of those principles. Indeed, the Italian state has decided to annex Tunisia despite well-knowing the results of such an action. Should not the Italians be let to act on their own? Are they some kind of children that need help to do their own state's job? Furthermore, this very gumption that you just praised, rather ironically, seems to be a more...faithful following of the core principles of Scandinavia's ideology - although, I believe, the Sahelians would likely politely announce their disagreement regarding this, which we would both agree is well within their rights.

The Caliphate of Afghanistan is willing provide Italy with the full support of it's military, should the Italians want it.
somewhere in Society's foreign department, several diplomats scratch their heads and go to redraw reality.

Black rose would like to send ships to help carry out refugees to nearby countries to get away from the war zone, if those nearby countries are ok with that.

Italy thanks the brave Scandinavians and Afghans for their support of the cause of freedom.

Breaking News: Several members of the Society's foreign department were hospitalized today for severe aneurysm and several cases of asphyxiation caused by laughter.

Gran Colombia also thanks Afghanistan and Scandinavia, or at least the corporatism dictators with their boots on the necks of innocent Afghanis and Scandavians, for their dedication to colonial butchering and corporate greed by extending their calls for an embargo and condemnation to these nations.

It is good to know our fears were justified. Without our intervention, the Tunisian nation would likely be exterminated by "social democracy".
Italy would do wise to remember it rallied against far right nationalism and islamism before jumping into bed with far right nationalism and islamism, but then again, choosing terrible allies seems to be one of those fragments of the past Italy holds so dear.
